The pack was gathered around the Golden girl, looking down curiously and wondering where she came from.
"So, this is Fay?" Jynx scratched his chin curiously.
"Apparently." Melody replied.
Lokan was ecstatic. "She is adorable! We gotta keep her!"
Anu folded his arms and knelt down to look at her. "We can't just let anyone be part of our pack."
Nimera watched Fay with squinted eyes. Nate turned to her. "Any input from you?"
The Pale woman shifted and looked at Fay with concern. "I was shielding us. I don't know how she could have tracked me. It should have been impossible."
"Maybe she was tracking our magic."
Nate turned to Melody and nodded. "Perhaps. It is still troubling though."
Anya closed her eyes and rested her hand on Fay's forehead. "Perhaps we awake her to answer for herself?"
Cleo gave a short, silent nod.
Within an instant, the golden girl's eyes flashed open brightly and she sat up, blinking. "Hi again everyone."
They all stood back at she rubbed her head. "Crazy night, huh, heheh. Thanks for letting me crash."
"Literally." Lokan chuckled to himself.
"Now." Anu watched her intensely with his stare, causing her to turn and watch in partial shock. "We were shielded, cloaked and in the middle of civilization. How did you find us?"
Fay shifted to rest her hands in her lap, looking up with bright eyes. "Well, It's a bit of my talent you see. I can sense things. You all had so much magic radiating off of you and so I tracked you here. I knew it was my fate and luck to meet you, and so I did."
"Fate?" Melody raised her eyebrows.
Fay turned to her, and gasped. "Its you! I thought you were a dragon!"
Melody blinked in shock.
"Dragon magic. In your blood. You don't know?"
Nate pulled Melody to himself protectively. "She is human. Anything you sense differently is the venom she was so horribly subjected to."
Fay's nose wrinkled. "Well, of course."
Anu shifted a little, thinking back on when he had tasted her blood. He knew Fay was right.
Something seemed to spark in her memory. It was only a spark, it is disappeared immediately, but she couldn't deny something else was there.
Anya sensed her discomfort, returning their focus to Fay. "So, if I am correct, you tracked us because you can sense our magic?"
She nodded quickly, curly hair bouncing.
"What exactly do you do?"
"My abilities?"
"Yes."
Fay looked up at them a moment before speaking. "Well, like you all I am a phase wolf. Lunar Eclipse. I work with Luck. Because I am lucky I am a bit like a magical battery. I've learned to be sensitive to magical around me since I impact everyone who comes close. I can't read minds, but I can feel others emotions."
Jynx laughed. "Luck? Who says luck exists."
Fay raised her hand.
Lokan had a wide grin on his face. "I believe it, show us something then."
Nate glared, feeling the urge to punch.
Anya sensed a twinge of sadness.
Fay lowered her head, the sadness staying for a few moments before raising it again. "Just believe me on this."
Lokan frowned. "No?"
Jynx rolled his eyes, snapping to create a fire in his hand, bouncing it casually. "Magic, is real.. but no amount of Magic changes fate. Changing fate requires changing how others choose. You have no control over that."
Fay watched him with intensity, teal eyes bright. "You can change what others see. Who is to say I cannot change luck?"
Anu did not speak, but folded his arms and raised an eyebrow. That was when Fay turned to look around at all of them.
"It was alignment, luck that I have found you. How else? Luck is with me."
"Or just tracking. " Jynx was changing the color of the fire, unamused. "I say you can't. Sorry, if luck was in your favor we would have believed you anyway."
Fay nudged Jynx sharp in the side, causing the fire to disappear. "Leave the poor girl alone. Besides, it is time we eat."
Fay sighed, looking down and closing her eyes to concentrate.
"Fine, I'll get dinners." Jynx took a step towards the door.
Lokan immediately followed after.
Before they could even reach the handle they heard a knock.
Confused, Jynx opened it to find a delivery man standing there with a large tray of food. The smell of fresh grilled steak and vegetables filled the air and caused their mouths to water.
The delivery man just blinked, holding the tray forward. "You ordered this?"
Before Jynx could open his mouth to correct him Fay was standing there. "Of course! Thank you so much!"
Nodding, he handed the trays over to golden girl and she gracefully took it and walked over to sit back on the floor.
The man tipped his hat and walked off without any further hesitation.
Jynx and Lokan looked at her with mouths watering and jaws dropping. "That was.."
"Just a coincidence. Of course. Besides, if I was lucky you would have believed me." Fay took a big bite of a steak, winking. "Believe me now?"
Anya smiled to herself. They were going to get along just fine.
