The first memory was from Fay's perspective.
Jynx, having all the fun he could, made the whole experience 4D. Each felt the light rocks against their feet and even the air going in and out of their lungs as they watched. It was surreal.
Still a pup, there was a playful buzzing in Fay's mind. It went throughout her entire body and filled everything with excitement. Colors seen countless times were still new and fascinating to her.
The pup took in all the sights from the hill, looking over what was a pack long gone.
Werewolves were gathered in a small community, mixing and mingling about. Both her parents were among that pack, or so she thought. Her father was always gone. Particularly around moon phases. In fact, nearly all the adults were gone on the phases. She thought nothing of it at the time.
Fay would not realize how dangerous that pack was until she was far older.
The pup ran from the rocky mounds and towards the gathering. She nodded her head at each wolf she passed, and they nodded back and laughed. She had no idea just how different she was.
Nearly tripping over her own feet with her excited run, she moved quickly to her destination: a small den covered in protective brush.
Inside the nest of brush was a silky speckled wolf, sound asleep.
Fay was about to yell out excitedly when she noticed her friend sleeping. She slowed her pace, but it did not stop her from tripping clumsily onto the sleeping pup.
The speckled wolf slowly lifted her head, silver eyes watching her friend tiredly.
"Sorry Anya!" Fay giggled nervously. "I'm sorry I tripped."
Young Anya rolled her eyes and stretched. "Oh well."
The two pups laughed and walked back through the pack. All eyes were on them. Of course they were. Two Phase wolf pups; so much power in two little bodies. They could not be treated as just anyone.
Because of this, the pups annoyingly found their escorts following after them. They wanted to explore on their own, but there was ALWAYS an adult with them.
The pups whispered quietly together as their huge escort paced a few feet behind them.
This would be a problem, if it was not for the pup's newfound abilities.
Immediately after turning a corner, Fay and Anya hid in nearby bushes.
Closing her eyes and focusing, the Escort suddenly felt he was on a stroll by himself. It was ridiculous, of course, and it would never work on a regular occasion.
It did, of course, because they had Luck on their side.
Soon as he was out of sight the two pups ran off the opposite direction, ready to take part in their own adventure.
The scene went on and the two pups wandered their way to see the human town. It would have been entirely hidden from them if it were not for the circus. It was no ordinary circus, it has magic. Fay could tell that from a mile away.
Before long the pups found themselves sneaking through the various obstacles and to a massive tent glowing with the magical energy Fay felt in her bones.
The pups sniffed their way around and eventually found themselves standing in front of the chained Eclipse shadow of Jynx.
This was all known to Jynx. What was not known, however was what happened after.
Flashing from that memory quickly jolted forward images from Fay, standing in front of the escort they had avoided. Her luck was powerful, but she had only used a portion of it and it was too late to reverse now.
Frantic words were spoken and she tried to understand the lecture before her.
Apparently sneaking off was wrong. Very wrong. They said she was valuable. She did not know why.
What she did know, was that in the burr of commotion she was being carried to a large oak tree. She was dropped into the hands of a vampire along with her freedom.
Anya's memories pushed forward similarly. She looked about for her friend and could not quite understand why she went away. No explanation was given, but she could tell by the sharp emotions that when an adult walked towards her something very bad had happened.
Whatever had happened to Fay was not good. As the escort approached she ran, slipping silently through the trees and off to her own independence.
Just as that memory Faded, Jynx immediately pushed forth another. This was years past the last set of memories.
Fay's blessing on the circus had worked wonders. Fade was dripping with success and he was booking shows before he even scheduled them. Fade truly was lucky.
Sadly, this did not translate to luck for Jynx.
The acts, drawing in more crowds than ever, only grew in cruelty. They did come, of course to watch with amazement all that the odd wolf could survive.
As a shadow, Jynx could survive anything. He could also feel everything.
He found his position only increasingly miserable. If only to convince his crowds, Jynx found himself growing alongside Fade. Previously trapped in the body of a pup he was finally able to take the form of a juvenile.
With his growing age his annoyance and fear of Fade grew. Jynx knew he could be equal partners if it was only allowed him.
After every act he found himself tightening his jaw at the cruelty of his master, bitter that he was stuck as a shadow. What made this worse, was every memory in his head was immediately absorbed when Fade rejoined with him.
What Fade did not consider was that the transfer from Master to Shaddow went both ways.
As Fade was taking knowledge from Jynx, Jynx was taking knowledge from Fade. It was not long before Jynx was creating his own tricks.
Jynx could not stay like this forever.
