Anu was getting antsy. He had spent an entire week searching. He had gone through what seemed like the entire house and found nothing. Names appeared, but in using the computer in Cecil's master room there was nothing about any of them. Even if he had found the information he was looking for, he had no idea how to use it. A name did nothing without an address or context.
He was grateful the rest of the pack seemed happy with themselves, especially glad Cleo made another friend. However, he couldn't help but be annoyed at their calmly wandering about. They didn't seem to care about the bigger issue at hand.
He needed to do something about it.
Another day ended, and the pack relaxed in the living room, casually talking about the boring day to day nonsense.
Anu could barely stand it and he stood up. "HEY!"
That got their attention.
"How can you all just sit here? There are scientists out there still and we have to find them!"
Anya sighed. "Perhaps so. We can't do much about it now though. The pain they caused is over. It doesnt need to control you anymore. It may be time to let it go."
Anu clenched his jaw, holding back and thinking through his words before Rage spat them out. "If it was just me. Just me, I can get over that. It is more than me though." His eyes squinted. "When I was out of their reach, they did not stop. They found someone else." His glance drifted over to Nimera, making eye contact.
Nimera swallowed quietly. His eyes were burning, but they drifted away and he stepped over to her, resting a hand on the chair behind her.
"They'll keep finding someone else. Over and over. They'll find other wolves, other victims. When we settle, they may find our future pups."
Cleo tensed at that, not wanting to think of it.
Anu sighed again. "It is more than just me. We have a chance to do something about this now. We MUST do something."
Anya and Jynx locked eyes. They had talked about settling. They could not help but think of how valued an eclipse-new moon wolf would be.
For a moment, an image flashed in his mind.
There they were: pups with glowing eyes, halo markings and beautiful starry speckles playing together. Edit was watching them halfheartedly. Edit quickly got bored of his task and went somewhere else.
That was when it happened-men burst in with cages and bags, quickly trapping the pups before they could respond. They are too young to know full use of their power. Off they go, thrown in the cage and drive to that facility he had seen only in memories.
Jynx shuttered, casting the memory out. It would not have been so frightening if it was not realistic.
He gave a short nod and stood. "You're right.. we need to do something about this."
The scene was echoed into Anya's mind as well. She sat staring a moment where Jynx stood, not wanting to think of it. Her eyes didn't leave the place.
"So. We know it's a problem to be solved, so what are we going to do about it?"
"What do you suggest?" Nimera looked at him carefully. "Wander about the city until you find one?"
Melody sighed. "That could be a last resort. If you know where the facility was they may live close by. We could look in that area."
"Not a bad idea. I feel there may be a better method."
"Like what?"
"We could make them come to us."
"Good luck with that."
Immediately after it was said all eyes drifted to Fay. Luck was something they could actually control.
"Hey Lucky, could you make that happen?"
She thought a moment. "Well.. yes. It's not that simple though."
"What would we need to do?"
She thought again. "Well, what do you want to happen?"
"With this being formally Cecil's house, it is possible that one of his colleagues would come to the door." Anya replied thoughtfully. "And if you weren't all insane, that would be bad luck."
Lokan shrugged. "Bad luck for a good cause? I'm in!"
"Everyone else?" Melody raised her hand.
Slowly, all other hands were raised.
With all hands raised, Cleo nodded at Fay.
With that, the Golden girl's eyes glowed, this time a little darker than their usual bright teal.
A feeling washed over them, mysterious with a sting. Then, after a buzzing the feeling left.
They sat there a while in silence, waiting for something to happen.
Nothing.
"Welp, I'm going to bed!" Lokan stood and walked over to his place on the couch.
With that, each took their places, and rested for the night. None would expect what was soon to happen.

The next morning, a knock was heard at the door.
The pack was gathered excitedly-could it be?
When the door was opened, Melody could only stare as a familiar figure faced her. Memories flooded back into her mind.
"Drake?"
"Hey Melody, about time I found you again. Miss me?
