Tears leaked out of my eyes and fell as tiny droplets on my palms. I lifted my eyes as I took in the huge master bedroom fully decorated.
How I wished this was all a nightmare, me sitting on the bed with the red wedding dress spread out as a circle on the middle and with a pinch or a shake I would wake up.
But it wasn't. This was a harsh reality. One that I could no longer run from.
Wiping away the tears, I moved to get up from the bed before Ammaar comes. Just as stood up, the bedroom door opened. My breath got caught in my throat.
I felt him come closer and closer with each second. My heart thudded rapidly in my chest. I was shaking. My eyes were fixed on the ground when his feet came in the view.
I almost let out a gasp as I felt his hand trail from fingers to my fore arm and grasped it. He turned me so that my body faced his. I could feel his intense gaze on me.
He moved his face closer to mine and brought his lips dangerously close to my ear.
"Beautiful." He whispered in a husky voice. I clenched my palms into fists. He pulled back a bit and said, "Look at me, love."
Silence.
Not bothering to repeat it once again, he lifted my chin with his finger forcing me to look at him. The moment my eyes met his, everything blurred. It was like the phrase 'the time stopped' was actually happening.
His eyes were so intense. Million emotions passed through them but one which stood out the most was love. The blueness hypnotised me in a way that nothing seemed worthy to matter other than him. His eyes expressed his feelings. It was a mirror to his soul, his heart. His long lashes framed his eyes so beautifully and my heart beat quickened as it roamed all over my face.
He ran his thumb over my cheekbones. "You cried." He stated.
No shit Sherlock!
"Don't. Every tear that escapes your eyes is like a bullet to my head; a knife to my heart." He whispered painfully.
I swat his hand away. "The pain you gave me is the one you're seeing now."
"Lov-"
"Stop. Okay? Just stop." I pushed him back. "What you have done today, I'll never forgive you for it. You hear me? Never." I wiped away the fresh tears harshly. "How could you? You literally forced me into marrying you. You threatened me. Is this how it is done?!"
He stood there silent. His eyes locked with mine. Pain, sadness and remorse danced in them.
"My parents. They have no idea where I am. They don't even know that I'm already married. Their only daughter. Married without their knowledge, their consent, their blessings. You ruined all our dreams! All our wishes!" I shouted. "I'll never forget this."
My heart fell as I saw tears in his eyes.
What's wrong with me?
Why do I feel pain for him when there are tears in his eyes? I should be angry. I should be glad he's crying. I should hate him.
Then why? Why does it feel like my heart is breaking with each tears that fell from his eyes? Why is there a ache in my chest as I look into his eyes that are bloodshot and filled with hurt?
Why?!
I turned around walking inside the walk-in closet and grabbed my clothes. Going into the bathroom, I slammed the door shut. I pressed my palm to my mouth to muffle the sobs that had started to break through.
