Third Person POV

The phone ringed in Ammaar's pocket and he took it out and attended the call, after looking at the caller id.

"Salaam, bhai(brother)!" A voice chirped from the other hand.

Ammaar rolled his eyes and chuckled lowly. "Salaam. Reached home safely?"

"Yup. Safe and sound." He hummed in response.

There was a one minute silence which was later broken by Abirah's hesitant and sad voice. "Bhai, she didn't look okay. She wasn't okay." She informed. "She looked broken and troubled. It was heartbreaking."

Ammaar heaved a long, tired sigh, pinching the bridge of his nose. His heart pained by hearing this out.

"Sure, we enjoyed a lot. We laughed, chatted and what not. But no one could be that blind to not notice the sadness and despair which lurked in her every action, her words and her eyes." She expressed brokenheartedly.

"I....I don't want to talk about this." Ammaar sighed painfully.

"But-"

"Birah." He said sternly. "I know.... and it's my responsibility. Just drop it."

Abirah heaved a long, irritated sigh. "Fine. Talk to you later. Khuda Hafiz." She hung up.

Ammaar stepped into his house, after finishing his errands. Taking off his coat, he settled on the sofa while loosening his tie.

What should I do?

The same question ran on his mind on repeat.

An unsettling feeling arose in his stomach and chest. Something was not right. Something did not feel right. He got up.

"Stop! Please! Make it stop!" A voice shouted in pain.

Ammaar heart fell to the floor. The voice, the perfectly familiar voice belonged to none other than his beloved.

With that, he rushed upstairs, climbing three stairs at a time. His heart beating furiously in his chest. Once he reached her bedroom door, he immediately unlocked it and pushed it open with great force.

There, the sight in front of him broke him. It ripped open his heart into tiny little pieces.

In front of his eyes, Adeena was crouched down, her hands pressed against her ears and tear after tear left her beautiful eyes. She felt difficulty breathing.

Ammaar rushed to her side immediately, wrapping his arms around her trembling figure. He whispered sweet nothings in her ear, hoping for her to calm down. His heart was beating at a faster pace and pain was all he felt at her state.

He rubbed her back, drawing circles to soothe her. The voices then shushed and her body went limp. Ammaar's eyes widened as he looked at her to find that she had fainted.

He immediately carried her and laid her down on the bed, kissing her forehead after. Taking out his phone, he dialed his personal doctor's number and informed him to come as soon as possible.

"Bhai, what happened?" Abirah barged in through the door with a frantic expression.

Ammaar looked up from his dishevelled state and met his sister's eyes with his own pained ones.

"I don't know. The doctor checked and... he said that it was a panic attack." Ammaar informed. "And he also stated that she is very weak, questioning me about her eating habits."
