The soft morning light slowly seeped into Eddy's opening eyelids. He was warm and comfortable, his love's body pressed up against him, their legs intertwined.
He lay there quietly, not wanting to wake Brett yet, who was sleeping so soundly next to him. They'd both caught up on a lot of sleep in these weeks, and soon enough they'd be working late nights again.
At the moment Australia felt light years away though and he couldn't remember a time when he'd ever been this relaxed and this secure.
His thoughts wandered to the night before. The tasty dinner in the quiet restaurant, the hands held under the table, the darkness outside as they walked back and looked at the stars, and most of all: the knowledge between them of what was to come. Every time he had smiled at Brett he had smiled right back at him with bright, happy eyes.
He recognised now what he'd felt there, and what he felt now, ever since Brett proposed to him.
Security. He'd given him security.
Once again Brett had known what he needed, even if he himself had had no clue. He really was the luckiest guy in the world to have him by his side.
He would have to wake Brett up soon, he realised. Yesterday they had found out about a special hike they could do, that ended at a waterfall that apparently was so spectacularly beautiful that the people who managed to get there raved about it everywhere. It was a long trek though and apparently not an easy one. But because hiking was the only way to the place it was always quiet there.
It had sounded like the most romantic thing in the world and they had resolved to go today. So they'd have to set off soon so they could walk there, spend some time, and get back home before nightfall.
He stretched out languidly like a cat in front of a wood fire, and moved slightly so he could kiss Brett on his soft plump lips.
Straight away Brett inhaled sharply through his nose, in that cute way he had when he woke up, and opened his eyes to look at Eddy. A smile spread over his lovely face and he moved to kiss Eddy back, but with more insistence this time.
Their kiss deepened now, their tongues exploring each other softly, teeth nibbling on lips. His hands were on Brett's back, pulling him to him, and he moaned softly.
Eddy could feel Brett's morning hardness pressing against his hip, to match the one he was sporting himself. But they had made a plan.
The waterfall.
He groaned and broke the kiss.
¨I would love to stay here and fuck your brains out, my love, but we wanted to hike to the waterfall...¨ he said softly.
Brett grunted and narrowed his eyes. ¨Yeah, we do¨.
¨Sure is tempting to stay here though...¨
¨Yeah, it is¨, Eddy smiled. ¨I'll leave it up to you, my love. Do you want to go see it?¨
Brett sighed. ¨Yeah. We're here now, and we won't get another chance. I really do want to see it with you.¨
He shook his head slightly and then rolled over, getting out of bed.
¨Come on then, let's hike!¨
As he walked off to the bathroom he turned around and spoke with a lobsided smile:
¨As long as you promise to do that thing you said later.¨
He didn't wait for an answer before he walked into the bathroom and closed the door, leaving Eddy smiling widely in the bed.
He lay there for a few moments, breathing deeply to settle himself back down.
Then he pulled himself out of bed as well and went to find some comfy clothes.
As he pulled on his trousers he thought to himself:
Oh yes, baby, I can make you that promise...
