Rant: Authors Who Just Can't Write Well Need To Learn

I'm sure many of you see the title and may have a 50% chance to go, 'leave them alone. This is Wattpad and they can do whatever they want.'

Yeah, screw that.

You're here to read about my rant regarding authors, so here you go.

Anyway, if you've been keeping up with my very inconsistent publish of books, or actually bother to read the new book I'm constantly shitting out, then holy crap, thanks a lot.

That book is basically me at my finest thoughts, and yet I am still criticized, and I don't mind that. It simply proves that I still have much to learn.

But then there are those authors who continues to write their books in very shitty formats that I just outright delete them from my library, despite seeing its potential.

So, I have a set of rules and/or steps whenever I do write up a story in Wattpad, depending on the genre I write upon.

For example, if it's a fanfiction about school idols, I set up these rules and steps. (Note: these rules are only implemented during 2019)

1. At least attempt to make the protagonist(s) as unconventional, and yet understandable and relatable as a person. If no choice but to be conventional, then also be a subvertion.

2. No. Harem. Allowed.

3. Make the protagonist unique in a sense that he/she (mostly he because I don't know how girl protagonists work) is someone that may or may not know who the idols are.

4. Make protagonist bond with everyone, but bond a lot with one particular girl from the idol group to invoke romance.

5. [Optional] Completely butcher the romance soon after with some drama.

6. [Optional] settle drama with a conclusion that can satisfy both readers and the characters in the story.

7. Continue the build up of romance, until a confession at a perfect time occurs by either the protagonist or the 'chosen one'

8. Actually show the aftermath post-confession.

9. Become slice of life.

More rules may be added.

And then there're the general rules I always implement in all my stories.

1. Everyone gets hurt. Show the injuries.

2. Never use emojis. Use emoticons, but to the absolute minimum, unless it is used for text messages, which becomes free real estate.

3. Follow the lore of the Fanfiction/World rules applied to the world. Bending the rules is allowed, so long as to not break said rules to prevent immersion breaking.

4. No harems.

5. Romance can be an option, but optional and sometimes unnecessary.

6. Paragraphing. Is. Important.

More rules will be added over time.

And then there are those people who just don't give a fuck and use emojis in 3rd person POV, just to describe something, which effectively makes a story bad in my opinion, even though the writing quality may be really good.

And there would also be those people who wrote stories in long ass paragraphs without paragraphing. Or those who use " and ' incorrectly 99% of the time.

Anyway, it's night here and I feel like letting some stress out.
