Newbies of fanfic writing: has practically no clue on how to use capital letters, commas and full stops, yet uses those things for thought reading and conversation effectively well.
Fanfic writers who can't soak up original stories: have their OC/Reader follow a main plot of the story (if there are. If they don't, honestly good job on having original plot)
Fanfic writers who crossovers: just someone who likes imagining on 'what if' scenarios, and usually retcons everything.
Me, a pleb who writes non-canonical side stories of various fanbases: usually grabs whatever lore is given, then tries the absolute best to make sure these OCs have some relevant to the original plot to ensure that the plot hole(s) of the series/show is filled smoothly.
