The Princess Test

The light shine from above. From there 5 figures dropped out of the sky. "Aaaahhhh" Cyborg fell flat onto the Azarathian ground and made a dent in the soft sand of Azarath. Above him, Beast Boy, crashed onto him. "Uhh...good landing, I guess." Beast Boy dizzily said. "Yeah, for you maybe, I'm just glad I didn't get dismantled, what with all that pushing and pulling through dimensions." Cyborg said as Starfire, Silver Swan and Dr. Fate slowed to a hover before hitting the ground.

     They helped Cyborg and Beast Boy up and started looking around. "Where does your friend say she would be." Dr. Fate asked. "Uhh, well what was the test called again?" Cyborg  asked. "The test of the heirs." Starfire said. "No, I think it was the heir to the throne test." Beast Boy said. Silver Swan smacked her head with her hand in frustration. "Urggh! You guys don't even remember what the test is called? What are we going to do then? Fly around hoping we see your friends?!?" She cried out. 

     Beast Boy and Cyborg exchanged looks before grinning. "No! Don't tell me. I hate you all" She cried out but opened her wings and flew upwards. She looked around while Dr. Fate scanned Raven's spell book for any ideas on where she could be. Finally, after Silver Swan and Starfire had flown around the kingdom nearly 3 times, the Azarathian sun started to set.

      "Well? What are we going to do now?" Cyborg asked. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING OUT THERE?!?" A voice suddenly screamed from a distance. They turned their heads to find none other than their fearless leader running over to them. "We...we were um..." Beast Boy tried to explain. "I saw Starfire and Vanessa flying around and figured you guys were here. Raven better not find out about this." Robin said. 

        'Why?" Starfire asked. "She's been on edge lately. The tests' taking a lot out of her." Robin replied. "But dude...we came here to see Rae-rae and we're not leaving until we do." Beast Boy stamped his feet on the ground. "No. The test is tomorrow and Raven's gonna need all the time she can get at this point." Robin said strictly. "Friend Robin. We will not disturb Raven. Just let us see her." Starfire said. "No. I have to go back. She doesn't know I'm gone. Find a place to sleep for tonight and meet me at the palace stadium tomorrow morning. The inhabitants of Azarath are pretty friendly, they'll offer you a place." He said, leaving.

            The five shrugged and walked into the village to find a place to sleep. But after finding most of the Azarathians had no room for them, they were approached by an african american man. "Well look at you, visitors to Azarath for the test tomorrow no doubt." He said and they nodded. Cyborg was unclear whether to trust this man or not but then he asked. "Which of the royals do you know?" He asked. "Uh...Raven" Starfire replied. "Ah...the beautiful princess Raven. Then you must be from Earth. Come you'll need a place to stay for the night and I have just the place."He said. The 5 shared an unsure look. "Come on, I am a good friend of the princess. You can call me Jared." He said and while hesitant, they nodded.

           As they followed Jared, he hid a sinister smile behind their backs but quickly covered it up with a warm smile, beckoning them to follow him
