"Congradulations Raven!" Robin hugged her as she was transported off the platform. "Good job Princess. Now remember, to the winner of this competition is to win the throne of Azarath but to lose means to live out their lives in the cold dungeons of Azarath. Now, on with the competition."
Robin was shocked as he heard the Lord of Games say that. He looked to Raven who had her head hung down low. "Raven......I.....I....." He said but Raven stopped him. "Don't say it Robin." She ran off without another word. "RAVEN!" He called and ran after her. But she had completely dissapeared. He walked back to the arena in surprise. 'Raven....that's why she had been secretive. She didn't want to lose me and all her friends.' Robin finally understood that even he wouldn't want to be locked in a dungeon for the rest of his life.
So he sought to find her. He knew exactly where she would be and he was right. She was in the garden where they had their first romantic moment together. Her head in her hands. She didnt even notice when he walked into the garden.
"uhh....Raven?"
She looked up at him.
"Oh, Robin, I didn't see you there. "
"Are you alright."
"I guess....Now you know my big secret huh?"
"I know but I don't care."
"but If I lose this competition I'm not coming back Robin."
"Well you haven't lost yet."
Robin look Raven into his arms and looked into her deep violet eyes.
"No matter what happens Raven, know that I'll always be there for you."
Without thinking about what he was doing, Robin leaned in and kissed Raven on the cheek. When he pulled back, he tried to compose himself. His cheeks red hot and flaming.
"Oh my God. I'm so sorry Rae."
Raven was stunned. She had never been kissed before and to be kissed by the guy she herself was falling for. That just reassured her that he liked her. She gave a small grin.
"No...It's ok. I kinda liked it."
Robin himself was then stunned. The girl who would kill someone if they touched her liked a kiss? He realised that he didn't know Raven as well as he thought he did. Raven collapsed into his arms and buried her face into his shirt. He kissed her head reassuringly.
"Raven....we have to go back."
Raven was upset to be pulling herself away from him but did so and they walked back into the palace together, just enjoying each other's company and warmth. "We never did get to know how my brother's fared." She told Robin. "Actually, I had watched the whole thing and the only one who got even close to finishing the course was Wrath, so you're in the lead." He said. Smiling wider than ever, she put her hand in his. She was beginning to feel better and all the hope that she could win the contest was returning.
