Enzo's POV:

Mauricio let go of the striker lever on the grenade and we yelled out.

"No-"

"I love you, guys." He smiled one last time.

The grenade exploded and we all flinched back. I covered Kai and Quincy with my body and hissed when I felt fragments of the grenade hit the back of my shoulders while the bullet proof vest protected most of my back.

I winced when I heard a loud ringing in my ear. I cupped my head in my hands as I groaned and squeezed my eyes close. I heard yelling and looked around, seeing blurry for a few moments as I blinked.

I ran to Xavier and fell to my knees in front of him. Pushing Mauricio's body off of him, I gasped at the sight.

"Xavier, no..."

I cupped his head and wiped the blood off of his forehead. His head and shoulder was bleeding the most and it looked like it was cut open.

"Shit...Xavier." Amir and the rest of our friends moved around him and gasped.

Gio took his shirt off, holding it to Xavier's head. Kai and Quincy silently cried behind me, too scared to even see if Xavier was breathing or not.

"Felix, get the helicopter going!" Amir ordered and Felix nodded, running out.

"Capo, what happened?" We heard Cruz's voice from the front of the building.

"Get everyone back to the warehouse, Cruz!" He nodded and walked back out.

"Master, please..." I bit my lip to stop it from trembling.

Eddie pulled out a rag and gave it to me to cover Xavier's neck where it seemed that he was also bleeding. I held the rag to his neck and heard Marco call us that the helicopter was ready.

Gio picked Xavier up and we followed him out. Him, Amir, Eddie, Alvaro, and I boarded the helicopter.

"There's only room for six people. Felix is piloting and Alvaro is sitting up front." Manuel said and we nodded.

"We're going to Alvaro's school. That's the closest hospital nearby so we'll meet you guys there." Eddie said and he nodded.

I softly smiled at Kai and Quincy who were still crying. "He'll be ok, guys."

They nodded and followed Manuel and the others as they stepped back. Alvaro and Amir pulled in the machine guns and slid the doors closed. Eddie made a short call to the school security, who were some of his men, and confirmed that we would arrive in a bit and to have the nurses and doctors ready to take Xavier in.

Gio held Xavier and kept pressure on his wounds, Amir holding the rag to his neck. Eddie showed them how since he used to be an EMT before he joined the mafia.

"Just hold pressure and don't let go, ok?" Amir and Gio nodded as he sat back.

I sighed and leaned forward, resting my elbows on my knees as I held my head. I let out a shaky breath and let the tears fall freely.

"Hey, he's going to be ok. Xavier's a strong one and he'll be just fine." Eddie rubbed my back and I scoffed.

"How can you be so calm all the time? Even Amir is freaking out." I turned my head and looked at him. He chuckled softly and nodded.
