The banging on the door stopped and we could hear multiple pairs of feet run through the halls. It got eerily silent before the door broke down.
Screams were the only thing to fill my ears the next second as the shooter began shooting towards the back of the class. My heart stopped and I immediately tackled the guy down, feeling him fight back.
I quickly pushed the gun away and Ollie kept him down since the guy was a bit smaller. "Get the gun, Xavier."
I grabbed the gun and stood up. There was no other choice but to kill the guy, so I did just that. More pairs of feet seemed to come down the hall and I ducked, yanking Ollie behind the wall.
"As soon as I get this next one, gear up, Ollie." I told him and he nodded, trying to control his breathing.
I peeked at the back of the class and cursed the students for not trying to stay quiet. Sadly, some of the kids did get shot, but my whole focus was on Milo. He seemed to be crying and I felt my heart sink.
I held my breath when a guy walked in, but he didn't shoot. He looked at the back of the class, but didn't seem to see Ollie or I.
"Oh, would you look at these poor kids-" I shot the guy in the head and students screamed, their eyes wide and full of tears when they looked at me.
"Ollie, now!"
I shut the door and moved the closest desk I could to it. Ollie immediately started taking the gear off one of the guys and started gearing up. He grabbed the rifle and everything else off him, slipping the vest on. I did the same, but stopped and got up, walking to the back of the class.
I grabbed Milo and slipped the vest on him, but he tried stopping me. "What a-are you doing, Xavier?"
"I don't want you to die, Milo."
"B-But I don't want you to d-die. You should-"
I pecked his lips and shook my head. "I'll get the next guy, Milo. Don't worry, ok? Also, I know it's not the time to joke around, but you should pull your trusty knife out, maybe you'll go feral and save us all."
He chuckled and hugged me tightly. "I love you."
"I love you too, Milo. Don't get hurt."
The door opened again and a bullet hit the wall behind Milo, hearing grunts the next second. I ran to Ollie and the guy, then killed the enemy, grabbing his vest and sliding it on. Ollie and I grabbed all the ammo and things we could carry.
"This is just like a mission, Xavier." Ollie looked at me and I nodded.
"Except that there's a bunch of innocent dying." I closed the door again, "The best thing we can do is wait for the others to get here. Shit, I need to find the four others, though. I need to see if they're safe..."
"No, you can't leave, Xavier. Let's wait for the others." Ollie shook his head and I shook my head.
"Ollie, I need to know that they're ok-"
"They're ok, Xavier. Enzo said that him and Levi are ok for now. Kai and Quincy haven't answered, though." I heard Milo say behind me.
"Shit..." I opened the door and ran out, shooting the guy that I saw down the hall.
"Xavier!"
I ran down towards the direction that Kai and Quincy's class were. I passed by one classroom and saw that it looked like the whole class had got hit. I continued going down the hall, but heard running behind me, turning around as I ducked to dodge the bullet that went past me. I easily shot the guy through the neck and let him drop to the floor.
