Chapter 9: Interrogation

(Kim's POV)

I agreed to go with Other Garroth and Lucinda to get Evil Zane to come with us to the nether. But I feel like this whole thing is gonna be risky. As we got to Evil Zane's prison cell, Other Garroth spoke up.

"Zane." He said.

No response. Evil Zane had his back turned to us

"Zane." He repeated in a more urgent tone.

I sighed. I suddenly felt Ghost taking over. And my eyes went from amber to blue.

"We know you're not deaf, so you're going to listen while we talk. We are going to make a journey to the Nether to find Laurence. We need a guide." Ghost explained.

She was right though. Lucinda did explain the situation on the way here. And yet Ghost was referring to the Other Laurence.

Evil Zane began to chuckle.

"What's so funny?" Lucinda asked.

"You think I'm going to help you? Your optimism is your greatest flaw." Said Evil Zane as he turned around to look at us.

"We're not asking you. We're telling you." I said as I regained control.

"I'd rather rot in this cell than guide you through anything!!" Evil Zane said.

I narrowed my eyebrow and sighed. It was no use.

"Fine. There's no reasoning with you, which is why I brought this." Said Other Garroth.

He pulls out the purple, pink, and yellow star thing. Evil Zane cackles.

"Well, looks like you've got some backbone after all. Cunning is a really good trait for you, brother." Said Evil Zane.

I growled softly.

"I'll break it. So help me." Other Garroth said.

Evil Zane laughs.

"Watching you trying to keep a straight while saying that is just... hilarious." Evil Zane said.

Other Garroth begins to grip his fist on the star, giving it a small crack on the lower left pointy spot.

"You wouldn't..." Said Evil Zane as his cruel smirk faded.

Other Garroth cracks the star even more, making the crack bigger and stopping at the center of the star. Evil Zane hesitates and Other Garroth and he cracks it even more, causing the crack to be 7 centimeters and heading up to the upper right pointy spot. The crack stopped just 3 centimeters away from the end of the upper right pointy spot. I could tell that this star thing that Evil Zane took from the Nether, it's about one and a half inches long.

"YOU IDIOT! If you break it, it will just return to him! Or... or worse... it might just go straight to the other one!" Evil Zane exclaimed.

"What?" I questioned.

"Just... Stop!" Evil Zane said.

He sighed and spoke up.

"Fine. I'll help you.... ON ONE CONDITION—" Evil Zane says.

"NO! You ain't getting that option. At all!" I said.

"It's either I do, or you won't find any answers!" Said Evil Zane.

"I'll crush this!" Other Garroth said.

Evil Zane then said that if Other Garroth crushes that item, it will only make matters worse. Other Garroth scoffed and told Evil Zane to speak.

Evil Zane then said that once were done with the whole thing, he gets to have the fragment, the star thing, back. We had no choice.

~~Some Time Later...~~

After the talk with Evil Zane, me, Lucinda, and Other Garroth walked over to Katelyn who was waiting for us. Other Garroth and Katelyn talked about that we agreed that Evil Zane can have the fragment back.

Speaking of the fragment, I asked Evil Zane what it was about. He said that it's a fragment of Shad that he stole and that he's going to use it to rule the Nether. And if it breaks, it will return to Shad. But he said that it might possibly go to Aaron. So for what I'm assuming, I think this fragment is actually a piece of Shad's relic.

Also, speaking about relics, yesterday when me and the gang first met Other Aphmau, she explained about the relics of the divine warriors and how Shad's relic was split into 3 pieces. This basically means that Shad has the first piece, Alina has the second piece, and we have the 3 piece.

After the chatter stopped, we then said that we will leave for the city of Brightport by tomorrow morning. That's where the portal to the Nether is. Other Garroth, Other Aphmau, and Katelyn are gonna go. So will Aphmau, Aaron, Lucinda, and Melissa.

~~Time Skip~~

It was now 11:30 at night. After the whole thing, I could hardly sleep. I got out of the bed I was sleeping in, now in pjs Other Aphmau is letting me borrow, and exit the room.

I walk over to the living room and see the fragment popping out of a small medieval bag on the kitchen counter.

"I can't let the real fragment fall into Evil Zane's hands..." I thought.

I walked back into the guest room and see Lucinda's staff standing in the left corner of the wall. I take it and walked back into the kitchen.

I picked up the fragment and began to cast a spell that will make a copy of the fragment. But it will only be made of glass.

"Geminio." I said.

As I said the incantation of the spell under my breath, a zap of orange light hit the fragment and then the light went away from the fragment and into the middle of the room. The light then shifted into an exact replica of the fragment. Except it's only made of glass. The fake fragment slowly floating onto the floor and I picked it up and then I put it in the small medieval bag.

I heard footsteps coming from outside. Other Garroth must've been on guard duty. I rushed back into the guest room with the real fragment and Lucinda's staff. I put her staff back on the left corner of the wall. I looked for a bag and I looked in some drawers.

I found a medieval fanny pack in one of the drawers. I pulled it out and I put the real fragment into the fanny pack and I place the fanny pack next to Lucinda's staff that was also next to Aaron's red bandanna. I rushed back into bed. I slowly close my eyes and fall asleep.

"Aphmau... please be safe when you get there..." I thought.
