Chapter 25: Things Get Complicated

(Aphmau's POV)

Right now I was with Gabriel. Everyone else was outside. I desperately wanted to talk to him. I wanted to know what's going on. We were in this room and I sat in a chair while he sat across from me at a table.

"My name is Aphmau Shalashaska. I'm an alternate version of the Aphmau... or... Irene... you know..." I said.

We talked for a bit about Zoey and other things. I begin to understand the story from his side but he doesn't care if I'm another version of the Aphmau in this realm. He then told me to leave.

~~2 Minutes Later...~~

After I exited Gabriel's home, I met with everyone else. Aaron still had his concerns for me. And I had my concerns for him and this power that's now inside him.

I start to think but It's actually a flashback.

~~Flashback~~

"Oh, me and Ava needed to help Mr. Dracula for a moment. Sorry about that, we—" I say but the demons cut me off.

"What if something happened to Ava?" Noi asked.

"We wouldn't have been there." Leif added.

I then noticed tears in the demons eyes. Were... were they crying?

"Huh?" Ava asked.

"Please don't go off like that." Said Pierce.

Me and Ava look at him.

"W-what are you guys..." Ava says but Rhys interrupts.

"We were just scare— afraid you two might have gotten lost." Said Rhys.

"W-we're fine." I said.

Asch then hugs me. I was speechless due to the fact that he was hugging me. I'm surprised that he's acting nicer.

"Please... just don't leave us alone again, okay?" He asked me.

I didn't know what to say. But, I'm glad he's happy. Because I'm happy too.

I stopped thinking about the past and turned my attention to Aaron. Zoey walked off and then Katelyn, Other Aphmau, and Other Garroth followed her. Levin was back with the little ones. Lucinda and Melissa followed them too.

"We should follow." Said Aaron.

"Yeah. Before things get complicated..." I added.

I was true though. Things were complicated indeed. And I'm about to meet The Heart of Darkness. And it's taken a physical form...
