~ Now This Is Podracing ~
Anakin Skywalker - Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Episode I

"Where the fuck have you two been?!" Party Poison shouts, charging out of the diner doors, straight towards us.

Kobra had just pulled us up and was getting out of the car when the red-haired boy threw open the door, looking absolutely furious.

I was terrified.

I was terrified he'd be so mad at me that he'd send me back to Battery City to rot with the Dracs. And I was terrified for Kobra. Yes, they are brothers, but I don't know what Party is capable of, I don't know how angry he is or how long the anger will last.

The rest of the group comes up behind him, looking relieved to see us.

Party stands with his hands on his hips, waiting for our answer.

"P, calm down-" Kobra starts.

"Calm down? How can I calm down when you," he points at Kobra accusingly, "Take my fucking car who knows where without me knowing? How did you think I'd react when I hear my fucking car leave before the sun is even fucking up?" He yells.

"Look, I'm sorry Party. I just-" Kobra gets cut off again.

"You're sorry? What if something went wrong? What if some Dracs spotted you and followed you here? Or worse you got yourselves fucking killed?"

"No one followed us, I was checking. And nothing bad happened. Your car doesn't even have a scratch. You can even check." Kobra motions toward the car.

I decide to speak up, "Why aren't you yelling at me? It takes two to tango." I'm pretty sure that's not the correct way to use that expression but I stand by my statement.

Party turns his attention to me; his angry expression doesn't change. "Did you know that I didn't know?" he asks simply. I shake my head in response. "Then why did you think it would be a good idea?"

"Because I trust him." I shrug.

Party sighs angrily. "Come on, its breakfast time." He turns and walks inside, Ghoul following close behind him. Jet and Sunshine both give us sympathetic looks before walking in after them.

Kobra turns to me and says, "Lesson two will be in a few days," before walking inside.

"Where did you even go?" Ghoul asks looking up from the week-old Battery City newspaper he was reading.

"To a motel just up the road," I reply. Ghoul, Missile, Jet, Sunshine and I were sitting in the recording room, trying to pick a CD to play. I had a stack next to me ranging from the ever classic 'Dookie' by Green Day to Nirvana's 'In Utero' and 'Ten' by Pearl Jam.

Missile sits on Jet's lap, clutching a Black Sabbath album. Sunshine couldn't decide between Cindy Lauper 'She's So Unusual' and ABBA. Party and Kobra haven't been seen since breakfast.

"Was there anyone there?" Ghoul folds up his newspaper and chucks it on the ground.

"No, not from what we could see. We were only there a bit under an hour." After the sun came up Kobra and I sat in silence until Kobra said we couldn't avoid it any longer and we had to go back to face Party. I still don't understand why Kobra would risk it knowing full well that Party would be furious. Is it really that important he teaches me to drive?

Ghoul nods at the response. "Well if your dumbasses don't hurry up and decide I'm putting on this." He holds up an album I recognise as The Smashing Pumpkins. I think its Watermelon of Infinite Sadness... or something, I can't remember.
