Chapter 3

Im going to be uploading all the chapters really quickly over the next couple of days so wattpad is in line with instsgram. So I will probs post 10 chapters a day, but dont worry, they are really short.

Paige's POV.

The weird snake lady dropped behind me, spear in hand.

"Time to die, demigod!" She sneered, "I'll try not to make it too painful, then again, no promisssesssss". She all but spat the last word at me.

I frantically tried cutting the net off me, but it was made from some tough bronze wire that my blunt penknife couldn't get through.

I tried to make some witty remark- If i was going to die, i wanted my last words to count- But nothing came to mind. The creature raised her spear. This was the end.

I was going to die.

Suddenly the bus came to a shuddering stop and I was thrown forward down the isle, the net falling free in the process. I charged out the doors and sprinted down the busy streets.

Not even checking to see if I was being followed, I slid into the nearest alleyway and nearly crashed into someone.

He looked around my age with shaggy blonde hair and a spotty face. I apologised and bent down to pick up my bag, which had fallen on the floor. "Holy sh!t" I cried, and sprinted further into the alley, but the boy easily caught up with me and spun me around to face him.

"What's wrong with your legs!" I half shouted.

"Nice to meet you too" he replied sarcastically. "Do you mind telling me why exactly you just ran into me?"
The boy seemed friendly enough, so I decided to tell him.

"I was attacked by an evil snake lady on the bus and I think she is still chasing me" I half whispered.

The boy didn't look at all surprised, instead he just asked "does she by any chance have crazy grey hair and a spear?" I nodded slowly. "Get behind me!" He said.

I turned around just in time to see 'evil snake lady' herself barrelling towards us from the other end of the ally!
