Chapter 7

Katie Gardner's P.O.V.

I watched eagerly as the new half blood came out of the big house.

She was quite tall and pretty with ombre hair, pale skin and smokey makeup that suited her. But that's where the girliness stopped. Her outfit was fasionable , but pretty baddass. She was wearing a black circle skirt and a burgundy top with a leather jacket and a burgundy Beenie. On her legs, she had black tights and combat boots.

I went up to her and introduced myself.

"Hi, I'm katie Gardner, daughter of demeter."

She stuck out her hand to shake.

"Paige Mathews, pleased to meet you."

Her accent was British, which was struck me as odd because I had never heard of an English demigod before, as the gods center of power was in New York.

"So your British then?" I asked her.

"English, yeah. Sorry if I seem a little confused. I have no clue what's going on!" She spilled out.

That seemed pretty normal. Most new campers walked around in a daze for the first few days. Well.... Except maybe Percy Jackson.

"Don't worry. I'll show you around and you'll probably pick it up along the way."

I showed her the campfire, and the sword fighting arena. The archery range and the lava filled climbing wall, which she took a particular interest in.

"Is that real lava?" She asked.

"Yup" I replied. "Stings like a b!tch."

"So how do the wall and ropes not burn?" She asked.

"I don't know. I never really thought about it. Its probably enchanted."

We walked up the hill and I started explaining about Thalias tree, when I noticed Connor and Travis coming up the hill.

My heart jumped a bit when I saw Travis. His hair was messy and there were small balls of sweat on his forehead, from where he had just been practicing his sword play.

He had never looked hotter.

I quickly. Averted my gaze and turned to Paige. "Brace yourself. Here comes trouble."
