Chapter Thirty

C A R T E R
Dec. 1, 2019"Are you sure you're okay?" I pressed.
I was skeptical of Murray, but I still cared. We were in Hunter and I's room and I wanted answers.
"I'm fine Carter. How are you? Ready for the finale?"
I sighed. "Yeah I guess. But I have a few questions."
"Okay..."
"Why were those guys looking for Violet? Not Lily? I figured it's because they want to know where Lily is but... Large came to this house. He had Lily. He could have just taken her but he asked for Violet. It just doesn't make sense."
"I know it doesn't kid but... everything will make sense after the final fight. You'll see. But I still need you to take care of Lily, Violet can handle herself."
No answers. What does he mean? What am I risking my life for then?
"How's Charlie?"
I sat on my bed. "Fine. She's fine, Hunter's been watching her and Emily."
"Good. Hector?"
I shrugged. "Don't know. Don't care."
Lie. You're dealing him drugs. I internally glared at him, but for all I know Murray was forced to deal. So I kept my cool.
"You better train."
I nodded, getting up to change into gym clothes. Hold on, who was going to watch Lily? I jogged out of my room. I heard Athena skateboarding outside. Karyna and Willow making a YouTube video on the trampoline(Lily gave them an idea or something), Rym was reading in the den, Ana and Allura were at work and... that was all I knew.
"Lily?" I called, finding my way into the kitchen. I saw Lily on her phone laughing. I wondered what she was laughing about...
"Oh hey Blade," she smiled her usual smile.
"Hi um, I've got to go train. Will you be okay?"
She looked around. "Yeah I guess. Where are you going?"
I shrugged. "Don't know."
I haven't taken this mask off in public for awhile, aside from school. Speaking of which things have gotten better, thing between Lily and I are awkward and she doesn't really talk to me besides the usual glance. Hunter hasn't come to sit with us yet, but he seems happy. Something about a 'note thing'.
