Chapter Thirty-One

~~~
L I L Y
I'm making a list of things I hate.
1. Crying
2. Pain
3. Bananas
4. Kale(Boss)
5. The Mafia and idea of gang activity in general
Just a few things I hate, in no specific order. Things were too much. But after today, it will all be over...
I hope.
After the dispute between Blade and I the other day, I currently was not talking to him. Yes I understand that it's childish, but I didn't care at this point. I was looking forward to punching him tomorrow.
"Lily, may I have a word?"
Murray. I needed a word with him too. I nodded and we proceeded into a small office room for some of my dad's stuff.
"Tomorrow's the day," he said seriously. "Are you ready?"
I nodded. "More than anything. I want to finish this."
"You understand that you can't win right?"
 I hesitated. "... I guess. But why can't I win the money?"
"I can't have the Eastons knowing your Violet." Murray voice was low now, desperate... angry. He was different, and I was officially suspicious.
"Of course not," I subtly spat. "And why is that?"
Murray exhaled, I assumed to try to calm himself down.
What was this guy's angle?
"You don't want to be in trouble now do you?" he went on. "Your parents would never let you leave the house."
"I guess," I shrugged.
"If Blade wins, we both win. He takes over. My problems are solved. Your family gets their money back, you're safe and without targets on your backs."
He was right. But there was still something off... way off.
"I understand," I said stiffly, walking out of the room. I stopped for a moment before closing the door. "... welcome back Murray."
