Chapter Thirty-Seven

L I L Y

Hayden lunged at him. I mean lunged. It was insane, Cooper was taken completely off guard and I was more confused than ever. 

Why did Carter hate Cooper so much? Why did Astrid react like she did when she saw him? Carter got up to break them up but winced, I flew over to him immediately. 

"Just relax, I'll take care of it," I said softly. So I inhaled deeply before yelling-"HEY!"

I dove in between Hayden and Cooper, Hayden was currently straddling C and punching the crap out of him. I caught his flying fist and shoved him backwards, Hayden's eyes were still dark and he was dazed and he hit the ground. I grabbed Cooper by the collar and stood him up. 

"Could you relax?!" I snapped at the boys. 

Everyone around us was on edge now, Astrid looked like she wanted to cry. Jasmine looked confused and my poor sisters were just here. I sent them an 'I'm sorry I'll explain later' look. 

"Come on ladies," Willow piped up awkwardly. "I'm sure we have things to do."

"Not really. I took the day off for this," Allura shrugged. 

"Oh come on," Willow groaned. "Let's watch a movie."

"Good idea," Ana nodded. 

And just like that, the six of them crashed and tumbled downstairs(like Allura actually fell) until it was only me, the boys, Cooper, Hayden, Astrid and Jasmine. 

Oh and Carter... who was looking very stern, he kept him gaze set on my, making me feel a bit self-conscious.

"Look here gentlemen," I said in a calmer voice. "We do not brawl on this floor. This floor is worth more than you. Cooper, thank you for dropping by but I'd like you to leave."

"Seriously?" Cooper snapped. "After I was just attacked?! I didn't even-"

"Go Cooper," Astrid's low voice rang, making all of our heads turn to her.

I had never heard her sound so angry. It scared the jinkies out of me. Cooper huffed and stalked out the door, making Hayden visibly relax. 

"Astrid, girls, upstairs," I said sternly before making my way towards Carter and whispering, "find out what the heck is going on with him, I'm getting answers."

Carter smirked and nodded before pulling me close, "you got it."

Shivers. BBbbbbBBbBBBBBBBBBbBbber. I internally shook off the tingles that attacked my skin when Carter let go and stared into my soul. 

"Okay, enough with the PDA," Damien rolled his eyes. "It's weird."

I laughed and nodded. "Sorry."

Carter shrugged. "I'm not."

I whacked him on his left shoulder, the one upper area of him that wasn't injured. 

Yet.
