Bonus Chapter: part one

"I miss you Vee," I sighed into my phone. "How the training camp going?"

"It's only the first day and it's kicking my butt," my friend groaned. "But overall I'm doing alright. How are you? How's Carter and everyone?"

"I'm good, bored," I chuckled. "It's literally just me and Karyna right now, and she's leaving in a few days."

"And everyone else?"

"Good as a far as I know. I was just calling Astrid a little bit ago. She and Rym are settling in okay. I wish I could be there but I really want this to be a romantic summer with Carter before we have to do long distance."

I was going to miss him so much. He's going back to the University of Miami in fall and I'm just found out I got into Harvard! I'm literally so excited. I found out a few months ago but wanted to surprise everyone over summer vacation when Mom was home. Carter is the only one who knows. 

I've been wanting to go to Harvard my entire life. I've been working and planning for ages and I literally can't believe it's paid off. I was completely shocked when I got the letter. 

After... what happened, I really started focusing more. I realized that life's too short. That things happen. Especially with Carter. 

I'm not gonna lie, we've had our ups and downs since we first got together. We actually broke up a few months ago when one of his exes came to town... but honestly it was my fault. I was stressed, missing my Dad and at my lowest point. Especially with SAT's and constant studying , it felt like I was drowning. 

When Melanie Wilson came to town, things got real. 

But we got through it. We're stronger and better than ever now. I'm going to Harvard to become a doctor and Carter wants to study business and eventually start one of his own. 

His Dad, surprisingly cleaned up his act, got a job, and got married. To an amazing woman. 

Her name is Danielle and she's a heart surgeon. Mr. Landon started having heart problems and when it got really bad he had to be rushed to the hospital.

Needless to say it was pretty intense, but Danielle really whipped him into shape. 

Carter still hasn't completely forgiven him. No matter how much Mr. Landon tries to reach out he refuses to have anything to do with him. I can't blame him though really... I hope they make amends one day. 

But yeah, that's basically what's been happening. Everyone else has been doing very well, it's almost like a fricken fairy tale. But nothing's been easy. I know Carter and I can do long distance, if anyone can it's us. 

"Oh! I think he's back," I said into the phone. 

"Carter?" 

"Yeah, he said he had a surprise."

"Okay. I'll call you back later kay?"

"Kay! Bye Vee, love ya!" 

"You too Lils!" 

I hung up after a few more goodbyes and ran downstairs in my fuzzy socks. 

"Hey Mr. Landon!" I beamed. 

Carter was pushing a box that seemed to be... wiggling? 

Are those air holes?

"Hey soon-to-be-Mrs. Landon," he smirked, pulling me into a hug and kissing my forehead.
