Betty sighed as she went through rails after rails of clothes trying to find the perfect dress or outfit for tonight's event.

' How will you know what is perfect if you do not know what kind of event it is. '

' Well friend I cannot do anything about it right now. I don't have that officer's number and I can't clearly ask my wife.'

' Then go with a dress that is good for both formal or casual occasions.'

Betty went to the next rail and found a little black dress that she thought would go well with a pair of heels she had not worn in along time. It was the first time she was going shopping and would be dolled up in a longtime.

' Where are you off to, looking so beautiful?'

Luna asked when she walked into the kitchen dressed for the event. Star looked her up and down but said nothing. Betty was happy that she did not give a snide remark.

' Well I am going to a work function and you're still babysitting right?'

' At twenty percent more than what you pay the usual babysitter right?'

' Boy you got me fucked up. I already buy you clothes, food and keep a roof over your head. So no I will pay you enough to go out with your friends Friday.'

' Come on mommy. The normal rate then?'

' No Luna!'

' If you were getting a babysitter you would pay her right? So I'm asking for the same treatment.'

' Fine. Only if I find my babies in one piece. Maybe_ and that's a huge maybe I will consider paying.'

' That's a deal.'

Eyes from both women and men were on her as she walked into the police hall, from those who sat nearest the entrance. Luckily for her she had come in threw the back door and not many could see her. She could hear people asking themselves who she was and no one had a clue. She tried to spot her wife but there was a huge crowd of really tall people infront of her blocking her view.

' Here I thought you were not coming misses Pine.'

The officer from the hospital said walking up to her.

' I forget to ask what time the event was and what to wear.'

She replied giving her a side hug. As nice as this unknown officer was, she was not about to embarrass her wife.

' I am glad you could make it. I must say you look stunning by the way. Who knew what you were hiding under those scrubs.'

There was a light ringing sound to draw their attention to the stage. The group of people who were standing infront of her before suddenly dispersed and she finally saw her wife in full police regalia on the stage. Nicole hated public speaking but she was happy to see her stand so tall and confident as she addressed everyone.

' I would like to thank my fellow police officers for their support. If it wasn't for them we wouldn't have had this success. Then to my beautiful girlfriend....'

Betty thought she was dreaming when a young woman walked up and kissed her wife infront of everybody. For a second she could not breathe.
