' Kids this is an old friend of mine, Samu.'

It was a very long forty-five minute drive into the next suburb to the only person she knew she could turn to at times like this. It was late at night so she showed the children their rooms before showing Betty hers but she was not ready to sleep. She needed to vent. Samu was her first girlfriend and they broke up amicably. They grew up and had different life plans. So they saw it best to break up just a year before she met Nicole.

' Babe not to sound rude or insensitive but you look a mess. Is everything okay? Where is Nico?'

Betty burst out in tears at the mention of the person behind the reason she looked a mess. Samu pulled her onto her chest and let her cry while soothing her. After a few minutes she removed herself and repeatedly apologised for being weak and ruining her shirt.

' Hey don't do that. Crying is not a sign of weakness. It helps you let everything out and relieve some of the stress. Talking helps too but if you're not ready to tell me now. I'm not in a hurry.'

' Sometimes I wish I had listened to you that morning you came to beg me not to marry Nico and just left with you. '

' You know I was just talking nonsense that morning. '

' Well you were right she cheated on me and when I tried to leave her she asked me to marry her. Promised it was a mistake and it would never happen again and I believed her. She cheated again when I was pregnant with Luna and Star. Stupidly enough I forgave her yet again. When she came begging and pleading. She said she only did it because we weren't having sex. She cheated two more times after that and I still forgave her.'

' Well it's a good thing to forgive your partner when they realize their mistakes and work on marriage. A lot of people are giving up too easily these days. Trust me. It's my job and I see it everyday.'

' Well look where that got me. I forgave her so many times that she saw it better to have a three year affair. Knowing that I will forgive her again. I'm such a fool.'

' You're not a fool babe. You're just a loving and forgiving person and I know that you are not the type to just give up on a person. You believe in people, sometimes a little too much but there is nothing wrong with that .'

Betty sat quietly thinking to herself, she heard her friend but did not fully agree with what she was saying. Being good and forgiving made people abuse your kindness and she was done with Nicole. Done with her lies and cheating. That girl could have her for all she cared but what about her children.

' Samu I'll need a lawyer. Is there any one you can recommend me to?'

' What do you mean recommend you. I'm a divorce lawyer incase you forgot.'

' I haven't. I just don't see you and her having a fair fight.'
