Twenty-Six Through Thirty-One Reasons Why

*Day Sixteen*

Annabelle POV

26. Likes my friends
27. Funny Stories
28. Idiotic in a good way
29. Responsible
30. Romantic

I write all those down as I think back to last night. I'm currently sitting up on my bed, just woken, with a sleeping Ash next to me. I look over at him.

God, he's cute.

His hair is a mop on his head. He has a small smile that's showing off his little dimple. His normally bright hazel eyes are shut and he looks so peaceful. His arms are still wrapped around my waist, even though I'm sitting up.

I hear a murmur and I think that Ashton is waking up, but really it's just Jenna.

"Belle, good morning. How was your date?" She asks once she notices me.

"It was amazing. I loved every bit of it."

"Did he ask you to be his girlfriend?"

"Ugh, no. But he did say he liked me."

31. Honest about his feelings

"Then why hasn't he asked you yet?" She asks, getting louder.

"Shh!" I say then nod towards the sleeping boy.

"The slept here?"

"Yeah. I was scared."

"Of what?"

"Annabelle." I quietly admit.

"Annabelle? You watched Annabelle?"

"Yeah."

"He said the movie was a comedy!"

"It wasn't! But that's okay, because I got to cuddle with him in the theatre."

"Oh, that's different then."

"It was awesome."

After Ashton woke up, we invited everyone over. Fifteen minutes later, here we are, waiting for Michael to show up.

"Where do you thi-" Luke starts, but cuts himself off when the door suddenly opens. Michael is standing there. His eyes searches around for someone, when he suddenly stops and looks at Amelia.

"Mike-" Jenna says, but then she's cut off as well.

"Stop. Amelia, I really like you and I find you really pretty and funny and sweet and you have nice eyes. You're also really hot and I would love you go on a date with you on Friday. What do you say?"

"Um, sure, yeah, okay." Milly answers, obviously taken aback by the sudden and random request. Michael smiles and walks over to her and kisses her. The entire group applauds- well, girls applaud, the guys do the wolf howl thing they do- at the cute - but oddly random- scene we just witnessed. I'm happy he asked her. She really likes him. They pull away from the kiss and she is so flushed, she looks like a perfectly ripe tomato. You can tell she's happy, her eyes are shining and her smile is from ear to ear.

Gosh they're cute.

Do people see me and Ash like that? Like, we're not dating, and he hasn't kissed me. But maybe a janitor saw us last night, holding hands and thought, 'Wow, they're cute for each other.' I hope so. I really do like Ashton. And I'm hoping, I'm praying he asks me out again.

"Oh, Belle, did you enjoy Ashton's company last night?" Calum asks.

"Yeah, it was really fun!" I answer truthfully.

"Okay, but how about after the date? Huh?" He wiggles his eyebrows.

"What do you mean?"

"I noticed he never came back last night."

"So, what? We slept in the same bed."

"Did-"

"Do you think we've met the person we're going to marry?" Jenna suddenly asks.

"What started that question?" Ashton thinks.

"I'm just thinking. I'm 18, a freshman in college. All of us are 18 as well, expect Ashton and Mike. My parents met at age 18 during their freshman year of college. They're still together. Do you think we've all met the person we'll marry?"

"I don't know, maybe. Everyone says there's one specific person out there for you, but I don't believe that. I believe that there are four or five. You chose which one you would like to marry and the others just find another one of their four or five. So, maybe?" I answer.

"I think I have," Ashton says, "I honestly believe that I've met the girl I'm going to marry."

"Me too." Luke says.

"Really?" Meghan questions.

"Yeah. I don't know who that girl is yet, but I just have a gut feeling that I've met her." He explains.

"I don't think I have. I like this guy, but I don't think he'll ever know. I think I'll get over him without him ever knowing. Then I'll meet my future spouse and all thoughts of this guy now will turn into nothingness and float away in the mist of the air." Meghan says.

"Yeah, me neither. Marriage is a scary for me right now. I don't think I'll meet him until I'm comfortable with the thought of marriage." Jenna says.

"I don't think you will be comfortable with the thought of marriage, until you're engaged or maybe even married. Marriage is a big step in your life. When you meet your future spouse, you're completely oblivious to it. You may be scared with that thought of marriage, but he's there, it's coming. He may help you through that fear or wait, but it's coming. So I totally think I've met him." Amelia says.

"I think I've met her, too. Most marriages start as a friendship, and this is the time that we make new friends that will be with us for the rest of our lives." Michael says.

"I don't think I have. Any girl that is friends with me knows I'm too crazy to marry." Calum adds.

It's silent for a little. We're all just thinking about what we just said. Amelia made a good point, and four if us said yes. Three of us said no, and I don't know. But, maybe? My parents met at seventeen.

"I think I have." I say and Ashton smiles.

His odds of being my husband are getting better and better.

But, I'm only 18, right? So who knows.

A/N: oh the future is a mysterious place.

I think about this a lot. My parents met in the 8th grade, so it's very possible I've met him. Idk.
