Ch. 3 - Confessions

Charlotte POV

Yesterday was stressful with Hope and Kelley trying to figure out what was going on with me and Olivia. It was a great thing father showed up, but it sucked to because if he picks us up we are getting beat. As soon as we got home last night he started screaming at us.

*trigger warning*

"YOU STUPID BITCHES WERE LATE AGAIN!" He had a cigarette in one hand and threw Liv to the ground with the other and started kicking her in the ribs. He got on top of her and started burning her arms with his cigarette.

I ran over to her and pushed him off of her, "GET OFF OF MY SISTER!" I screamed at him. He started towards me, so I yelled to Liv, "GO! You know what to do!" She nods before running upstairs. Father starts punching me over and over until I finally hit the ground. He pulls a pocket knife out of his jean pocket and lifts my shirt.

He digs the knife into my stomach and it takes awhile for me to realize he's writing something. Once he finishes, he kicks me in the ribs and gets up to get a beer. It takes me awhile to get up, but by the time I do, he has already finished his first beer. He threw the glass bottle at me and it broke in my face. I had to hold back the scream when it hit me, I just ran upstairs to Liv and I's room. I knocked quickly and said our codeword, she opened the door and pulled me in before shutting and relocking the door.

*trigger warning over*

"Holy shit Charlie! That doesn't look good whatsoever!" Nodding my head, I make my way over to the bathroom. "I know, just help me get cleaned up?" Once I'm in the bathroom, I look into the mirror and don't even recognize myself between the bruises and all of the blood. I start crying and was trying to hold myself up by holding the counter. Livie immediately came to my side and hugged me, "hey, hey I know it looks bad now. It's okay, it's over with. Let's get you cleaned up." Nodding, I let Liv take care of me solely for the first time ever.

It looks better, but not by much, at least the bleeding stopped. He had written 'Worthless' on my stomach. We make our way over to our beds when Liv pulls out some food. I gave her a questioning look before she answered, "I swiped it before I came up here. I know the real reason you fainted at practice was because you haven't eaten in days. " I just nodded before I started eating. As we both lay down in our beds and turn out the lights I say to her, "I love you Livie." She sighs before saying, "I love you too Charlie."

I fall asleep thinking how grateful I will be that USWNT was only there for today and I don't have to worry about Kelley and Hope trying to help us. We won't be able to cover up my bruises because of the cuts and apparently Liv ran out of makeup, so let's hope no one says anything.

Hope POV

We had our team meeting last night and all of the girls agreed to help Kelley and I get to the bottom of the twins' situation. It's now late morning, so we are all getting ready to head over to the school for their soccer practice. Kelley comes over and hugs me from behind, "It'll all be okay Hopey, we'll figure out what's going on today, okay?" I nod before turning around to give her a peck. "I love you Kels," she smiles real big before saying, "I love you too Hopey... now let's go get food!" I swear that woman has three things on her mind, food, soccer, and me, which makes me love her even more.

We get to the school right after they dismissed, so I make my way to one of the bathrooms before heading out to the field. As I'm walking out I accidentally bumped into a girl causing her to fall. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry, here let me help you up." Once I help the girl up, I notice it's Charlie and her twin Olivia is right behind her, both covered in bruises. Charlie with bruises and cuts on her face, Liv had just taken off her jacket so you could see the bruises on her face along with the burn marks on her arms.
