Ch. 14 - Birthday Finale

Charlotte POV

Becky just came back after trying to convince my moms to get me out of here today.

"Sorry kid, I tried," Becky told me as she walked through the door.

I have a really bad idea, but I'm not going to give her much of a choice.

"Becky, call Mal and my sister now and have them ready with a car at the front." I told her as I hopped out of bed, I hooked myself from the machines, and got dressed.

"What? Why? Char what are you doing?" She rambled off to me.

"I am not spending the remainder of my birthday weekend in a hospital. So we are going on an adventure." I tell her as I pull her out of the room.

She agreed and did what I asked. Anytime we saw a doctor or nurse we would tuck ourselves into a corner until we passed. Hope had gone down to meet Kelley in the cafeteria and luckily we didn't pass the cafeteria.

We finally made it to the car where Mal was driving and my sister all about freaked out when she saw me get into the car.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?! I know you weren't released!" She yelled at me as I buckled up.

"Liv shut up, Mal to the beach." Luckily Mal didn't argue but I got a full on rant from my sister.

We make it to the beach and I realize I don't have my phone. "Sis do you have your phone?"

She reaches into her pockets before shaking her head. "I must've left it with mama."

"Mal you?" She just shook her head no.

I turned to Becky, "I don't have mine and you don't have yours because I remembered you setting it down right before we left."

Liv started shaking her head, "this isn't good, we should go back."

"Liv no, we are already here. We won't stay too long, we can't even get into the water. Moms won't even notice we are gone," I told her nonchalantly.

Boy was I wrong, but we didn't care. We had a blast on the beach making castles and watching the sunset.

The fun quickly dissipated when we heard a car pull up with Kriegs and Pressy run out towards us.

'Well shit' I thought to myself before I shrugged at Liv who was glaring daggers at me.

Kelley POV

Hope joined me down in the cafeteria at the hospital because I was complaining that I was lonely.

She was confused since Livie was supposed to be with her, but then I explained that Liv got a weird call from Mal that she needed her help, so she didn't think too much of it.

The intercom came over while we were snacking at a table.

"Code yellow in room 372, code yellow in room 372."

"What's a code yellow?" I asked Hope.

"I have no clue, but I know that is Char's room." She told me before yanking me up and taking off running towards her room.

Once we get to her room we discover she's not in there, but a nurse is.

Running up to her Hope yells at her threateningly, "WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?"

The nurse shrunk back in fear and I held her back some.

"That's what a code yellow means. Missing patient, one of the nurses came in here and discovered her missing."

Hope broke down in tears. She couldn't even be angry at this point. This girl had gone through so much shit and now she was missing. I grabbed her and gently helped her to the floor.

"Babe, it's okay. Maybe she's with Liv or someone on the team. It'll be okay." I tried to convince her.

I tried calling Liv, after awhile she looked at me and I shook her head. "No answer," I said solemnly.

I then tried to call Mal, no answer. Becky next, no answer again. Finally I called Ash who immediately answered.

"Ash and Ali are on their way. They're also calling Tobin, Press, Carli and Alex."

She just nodded her head as she continued to cry into my chest.

"Ash and Carli, you go to the park we play soccer. Ali and Press, you go to the beach. Alex and Tobin, you go to our house. Call us no matter what the answer is."

They all took off to go look for Charlie while I tried to console her, emphasis on tried.

"It'll be okay. I'm sure she's with Becky, Liv and Mal right now. She probably didn't want to be stuck in a hospital." I reasoned with her.

"But what if she's not okay?" She sobbed out to me.

I continued to rock her and tell her it'd all be alright.

Olivia POV

Kriegs immediately came up to me and wrapped both Char and I in a hug. "Oh my god kids, we were so worried about you. Kelley is trying her best to console Hope but Hope was in tears when we left!"

Press came up next, "What were you two thinking?! Your moms are worried sick right now."

Press is normally a cinnamon roll towards everyone but she is giving Becky and Mal a piece of her mind.

Krieger came back over to me. "Neither of you ever do anything like that again. Please, your moms aren't the only ones worried."

"I'm so sorry Kriegy, I promise it won't happen again," I cried into her chest.

I saw Char tear up before hugging Press again.

"Don't be mad at any of them. I forced them to do it. I just didn't want to be in the hospital anymore." She tried telling both of them.

"I kind of figured kid, but it doesn't matter, they still put you at risk. We aren't mad at anyone, just disappointed in the older two. Now come on, let's not keep your moms waiting," Press told us.

Kriegs called Mama to let her know we are on our way and Mama said to just go to the house since Hope convinced the doctors to let her sign the paperwork since they technically lost her child.

Hope POV

Krieger and Press found them so we are headed to the house to meet them there. They said they seemed alright and this was more of an adventure, not an abduction or runaway.

Kriegs and Press were the last of the team there, but as soon as the pulled up I was out the door with tears down my eyes again.

Char opened her door and as soon as she saw me she started crying and fell into my embrace.

"I'm so so sorry mom!" She cried into my chest.

"It's all my fault! I convinced them to go with me, I was just so sick of that hospital," she said while she continued to cry.

Not much air was coming through so I swiftly picked her up and carried her to my room and set her on my bed with her on my lap.

"Shh sweet girl," I said while running my fingers through her hair. "There's no reason to cry. I'm not mad. I was however scared shitless."

"I know Mommy, I'm so sorry. I promise to never do it again." She had gotten a little bit of composure back.

"I know hun. Just go to sleep, we will discuss this further in the morning." I told her while laying down with her while she tucked her head under my chin.

"I love you Mom." Smiling and rubbing her back gently, "I love you too baby."

Finally she was dozing off and I felt like I could sleep peacefully knowing she was in my arms once more.

Sorry for the delay, between getting caught up for school and traveling out of the country I haven't had the time. I am still out of the country but I had time tonight to update.
