Charlotte POV
We have been living in Portland for awhile now and the team has played a few games. Luckily for us, they have won all of their games so far. My shoulder is healed now so I have been allowed to practice with them some, but Liv is still out for her knee.
They have another game today, but Moms seem to be really nervous for this game. They are playing against Houston Dash and are nervous since they have gone undefeated, but Houston is a really good team. We are hosting so we are already at the stadium, unfortunately Becky is missing out on this game because she has a sick family member back in St. Louis, but Liv and I still get to sit on the bench with the rest of the team.
The first half of the game isn't awful, the score is 1-1 by halftime. Portland seems to have lost all of their hope and motivation, so when they go back out to the field for the second half of the game, it just gets worse.
Portland lost to Houston 3-1 and neither mom or mama are happy right now. We are driving back home and moms have both been silent the entire drive home. When we get home, Liv and I take off for the house as soon as the car is stopped.
"Livie, what's going to happen? They seem so tense." I asked Liv once we sat on my bed.
She wrapped her arm around me, "I don't know Char. Moms are typically so loving towards each other especially after a bad game."
We sat pretty much in silence until we heard the door slam causing both of us to jump.
"Dammit Kelley! You are supposed to listen when I tell you what to do during a game! You are my last line of defense and you were just letting them come through! You're lucky I saved most of the shots otherwise it would have been a 10-1 game rather than a 3-1." Mom screamed at Mama.
"What are you talking about? I was the one who saved most of those. If you didn't have me all of those balls would have gone threw!" Mama screamed back at her.
They continued yelling at each other as they walked up to the bedroom and slammed the door. Livie was in tears and I wasn't far away from tears myself.
"Can we go to Becky's Char?" Liv asked me with fear lined in her voice.
"No, I'm sorry Livie. Becky is in St. Louis right now." I told her and she sobbed a little harder before I got an idea.
"Aunt Chrissy and Aunt Toby are only about 20 minutes from here. We could go there, pack a bag." I said to Liv who quickly jumped up and ran to her room. Not even 3 minutes later we both had a bag pack and were ready to leave.
"Ready?" I asked looking to Liv and she nodded her head. We slowly poked our heads out and saw that their door was still closed and they were still yelling. We creeped down the stairs and once we were outside we took off for my car. I decided to drive since Liv was still sobbing.
We both got in and I took off towards Tobin and Christen's house.
Olivia POV
We arrived at Christen and Tobin's and both walked to their front door. Char knocked on the door with one hand while her other arm was wrapped around me. Christen opened the door and I immediately threw myself onto her.
She caught me and gripped me tightly in a hug. "What's going on Liv?" I couldn't make out words, just more sobs.
"Moms were fighting. We couldn't handle it so we came here, I hope that's ok." I heard Char answer for me.
"What do you mean fighting?" That was Tobin and she sounded mad.
Christen was still holding tightly onto me, "Can we go inside?" I begged. Christen quickly nodded before walking with me over onto the couch and setting me down onto her lap.
