Charlotte POV
Mom's have another game this week, so I'm hoping it goes okay. It's just a friendly, nothing super important. Becky still isn't back from St. Louis which I'm super bummed about. I really miss her, but we facetime every day.
We are at the stadium now and I was wearing a Solo jersey along with some soccer shorts from Moms new team. They gave Liv and I uniforms so we would feel more apart of the team when we do practice together.
Right as halftime is called, Portland is winning against North Carolina Courage 8-0. We all head into the locker rooms together and Mom pulls me to sit next to her.
"What's up Mom?" I ask as I see her reach behind her back.
"I wanted to give these to you as a gift. You have come so far from your injury and I wanted to reward all of the hard work you have put into it." Mom said as she pulled out her lucky keeper gloves.
"Mom... Are these you lucky gloves?" I ask her in shock of what she was doing.
"They're yours now. You may need them sooner than you think." With that, she left to go talk to some of the coaches.
I teared up some when Liv came over and hugged me. "How ya hanging sis?" She asked while throwing an arm around my shoulder.
"Did you know about this?" I ask her and she nods with a big smile on her face.
"Mom asked if I thought you'd like it. Of course I said yes. Now let's get your hands wrapped and the gloves on." She told me while giving me a hug. "Come on, it's almost time to go back out." I nodded and followed the rest of the team back out.
We got back out to the field when Mom sat next to me on the bench. I shot her a confused look and then I heard her coach call my name. Mom gave me a smirk before pushing me towards her coach.
"Yes?" I asked quietly.
"You're going in, get ready." The coach said before turning around and walking away.
I called after him, "You're joking right? I'm not a team member!" He just ignored me and kept walking. When I saw that all of the team's keepers were on the bench I assumed he was serious so I got ready before running over to my goal.
The second half was starting and honestly I was just standing there. Though I did find it funny when the announcer said who I was and that I was only 16 years old. Everyone cheered for me, it was absolutely amazing. Our team was moving the ball so forward, it rarely came back to me. If it did come back to me it was Mama sending it to me for me to get a touch on it.
It was around the 76th minute when Mama sent another ball back to me when I saw Press had no one blocking her, so I took the chance and shot the ball up to her on the left side of the field. She chested it down before moving it towards the goal, taking her shot and then we all saw it grace the back of the net. We were up 9-0 now.
Everyone went to cheer with Christen except Mom and Mama. Mama ran back to me and Mom ran from the bench to hug me. It was a huge moment for me, but then everyone quickly got their heads back into the game.
Since the goal made by Press, nothing else had really happened until the 88th minute when Crystal Dunn had found an open space from midfield and was making her way to me. She kept possession no matter what our defense did until she was at the goal and took her shot.
I was watching her stance, she looked as if she was going to go left, but I saw her eyes dart to the right. When she swung I trusted my gut and lept towards the right. My eyes never left the ball, so when I saw it coming towards me, I smiled before catching it and tightly clinging to it as I hit the ground.
Again, Mama ran right over to me and helped me up before hugging me. I kicked the ball back out and our defenders just kicked the ball around until we hit 90 minutes and the game was over. I was on cloud 9, not only did I help Christen with our last goal, but I blocked a shot from one of Mom's national teammates.
We were all shaking hands until I came up to Crystal. I was expecting her to be mad at me for saving her shot, but instead she smiled and wrapped me in a hug. "Charlie!!! I am so proud of you kiddo!"
"Thanks Crys!" I tell her and hug her back. Once we all make it back into the locker room, I see mom sitting down so I go over to her immediately and plop down into her lap. "Did you know about this?" I ask her.
She wrapped her arms around my waist, "Know about what?" She retorted with a smirk. I just glared at her and she chuckled and kissed my forehead.
"Oh my gosh Char! You have Mom's glare down pat!" Liv yelled as she walked into the locker room with Mama and they both gave me a hug.
"So how do you feel kid? I mean this was your first cap on a professional team." Mama asked.
I sighed as I thought for a minute. "I want to do this forever. It was so thrilling, Liv, I can't wait until it's you out there. Thank you to everyone who allowed me to be apart of this team in so many ways," I said as I looked around the room. "It definitely wasn't the same without you on my line of defense though Liv. It wasn't the same without having Becky there either." I said the last part sadly.
Everyone kind of gave me sad smiles before I heard a voice I have been missing lately. "Who said I wasn't here?" I turned around to see Becky grinning at me. I immediately took off running and jumped into her arms.
"BECKS! I missed you so much!" She held me up while I tried not to cry into her neck.
"I missed you to Char and I'm so glad I could see you play today." Becky said as she set me down.
"You saw me play?" I asked a little more shy now.
She gave me a cheesy smile, "I got here right before the second half. You were amazing babe." She rested her hand at the base of my neck before connecting our lips together. I immediately kissed back with as much passion as she was giving, her tongue slipped into my mouth and I let out a moan in response.
Everyone said aww except Mom and Mama who broke up our little make out session. "Oh my god, you did not just moan!" Mama yelled as she separated us.
"I don't have a problem with you two doing that, just please, not here." Mom groaned and Liv, Becky and I all laughed at them.
I turned back to Becky and walked back into her open arms. "I missed you so much Becks. I love you."
"I love you too Char, and I can't even explain how much I missed you and couldn't wait to come back." Becky said as she guided me out to our cars. Becky decided to stay the night at our house so I was able to cuddle and feel safe all night in her arms.
