"I swear I didn't mean to. I was telling them to stop singing in the middle of a class, but the teacher doesn't seem to understand that." I told him, my eyes glued to the ground and a scared expression plastered on my face.
"It's okay." He ruffled my hair and let out a chuckle. "Kids these days."
"I'm going out Dad." I heard Maverick yell.
Dad said okay to him while walking to his own room. I was sitting in the living room, when I realized all of Thibbaults friends had gone by now and so had Thibbault.
Elliot was sitting on the couch, watching TV and occasionally commenting as if the players could actually hear him.
"Elliot?" I called out but he didn't seem to listen.
I called out his name again, louder this time but still, he didn't even cast a glance in my direction. I let out an irritated sigh and went to my room and lay down on the bed, upside down.
I don't know if I should go to Brynn's birthday party or not. She invited almost the whole school and none of the students like me.
What if they started making fun of me at the party?
"Elliot!" I heard a scream come from downstairs.
I shot up with a strange feeling gripping my stomach. I could feel a nervousness filled through me. Despite that, I decided to check out.
Maybe Grandpa's here.
I left my room and stood at the top of the stairs, hiding behind slightly so that no one could see me. I noticed a little girl hugging Elliot tightly.
Who is she?
Dad closed the door behind him and there stood a man, who actually looked like what I had imagined my Grandfather would look like.
He had gray hair and beard and his forehead was covered with frown lines, but there was a warm smile playing on his lips.
"My little girl has gotten so big." Dad said, giving the girl a peck on her cheek.
"Yes, Uncle Jaxon. I'm a big girl now." She shrieked with happiness.
"Grandpa didn't tell me you were coming too, Piper?" Elliot asked, perplexed.
"Because I wanted to give you guys a surprise visit." She said, squealing in his arms.
"She was actually crying for me to bring her here." Grandpa chuckled.
Elliot smirked at the girl, causing her to playfully glare at Grandpa.
"Where's Connor?" Grandpa asked and I quickly rushed back to my room.
"I'll call him." Dad replied.
I don't want to face him. Not yet. I've never met him before and I feel a bit nervous.
