The silence caressed my skin like an unwanted wind, echoing in the air as a gaping void that needs to be restored with sounds and words. It was eerily unnatural, settling me in a huge sense of conversation.

All at once, I comprehended nobody is existing in the room to imagine my current emotions. Everything remained to linger in the air, allowing the silence to be followed, despite I was yearning for the generated sound.

"Is it important to talk about it today? Can we not skip this conversation?" I disputed, reluctance was noticeable in my voice.

"You haven't spoken a word about the incident in the past week."

"I don't want to talk about it. Please ignore it for the sake of my coming birthday." I almost pleaded.

Thibbault avoided looking at me before lifting his watch to his eyes and muttered out. "There's no hurry."

Dad moved forward, taking a seat next to me on my bed. He exhaled a tired heavy breath, and as he raised his arm, I thought, he was gonna hit me, so as a reaction, I immediately tried to lean my head to the side but he only ran his hand through his face, looking wholly weary.

I was gratified, he didn't notice my action.

"Tell me. Was there anyone else other than Robin?"

When I didn't answer, Elliot held up my chin between his hands to frown at me with his knowing-stare. As if I would get scared of him with an impact, as a consequence of answering all of his questions.

"I don't want to talk about it," I repeated.

"Connor, your answer would help us to catch that person as well who was the one to drug you."

"No, Dad. He can't agree easily. As I mentioned earlier--"

"Thibbault!" I yelled out.

A harsh voice originated. "Open your mouth or have a goodbye to all your electronics till the next weekend including your special day."

"Don't be so cruel!"

I plopped my gaze on Elliot who was being quiet as there's no energy inside him to utter a word in my favor and seemed too busy thinking about something.

"Lil bro, I haven't got enough time to repeat myself. I have been doing this all day. It's important to ascertain the other person, so better tell us the truth." Thibbault pushed me, speaking loudly, his eyes staring at me dangerously.

"Connor--" Dad was cut off.

"Oh, please, Dad. You can never get the answers if you keep speaking politely to him." He retorted as a matter of fact.
