⚠️ TRIGGER WARNING! ⚠️
I sighed, as I buckled my seatbelt. My eyes focused on my trainers, as I tried my best to ignore Jaxon.
Before we started driving, I felt Jaxon's warm fingers lift my chin, before cupping my face with his hand.
"What's the matter, Connor?" He asked softly.
"N-Nothing." I answered, for the millionth time. "I'm just not feeling well, that's all."
He sighed, reluctantly removing his hand from my face, before he started driving. The ride was filled with silence and only took us a couple of minutes before we arrived at the house.
I sat in the car for a moment, staring at nothing in particular, before I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. I glanced at the water fountain and waited for Jaxon to get out, so he could unlock the front door.
To my dismay, Jaxon led me into the house, which was already open. As I walked inside, I saw Harvey wiping the table. I didn't wait for Jaxon to ask me any questions, I just made my way up the stairs and to my bedroom.
"Just give him some time alone." I heard Jaxon tell Harvey.
I sat on my bed and drew my knees to my chest and buried my head between my knees.
What happened today at school was the most embarrassing thing I have ever had to suffer. The truth of my past, hurt me.
People's comments and my own thoughts come flashing into my head.
How am I going to go back to school?
What will people think of me?
His parents abused him back there.
Who would even want to befriend an abused guy?
I felt the stinging sensation of tears pricking my eyes. I tried to hold them back but I couldn't and I didn't want to. I hugged my knees tighter and started crying.
You're such a crybaby.
I know I am.
Eww! I'm never going to go near him.
I cried harder at those words.
I felt someone rubbing slow, soothing circles in my back, eventually causing my hiccups to stop. I looked up to see Jaxon staring at me with concern.
I quickly wiped my eyes, trying to get rid of my tears, but they just continued to fall.
"Connor, I know this is something serious and I want you to tell me, what happened at school?" He asked in a strict tone, but I just shook my head.
