I saw a figure exit the gate and walked towards me. She gave me a small smile and I can't help but grin how carefree and comfortable she always looks.

She seems like she couldn't care less about anyone. She was in her white button down shirt with denim shorts. Her blonde hair cascaded in loose curls over her shoulders.

She caught me staring at her, a smirk appeared on her face in a teasing manner.

"How long will you stare at me, Connor?"

Why does she always have to say my name?

"Sorry." I quickly replied. She rolled her eyes, but a teasing smirk never left her face.

Her eyebrows squinted as I saw her staring intently in my sclera.

"Your eyes- are they really that green, or are you wearing contacts?"

Now, it was my time to smirk. "Nah, they're my natural eyes."

I chuckled at her when I saw her gazing around, pretending she had never asked the question.

"I have never seen a person in real life with emerald green eyes. That's quite rare but.." Her lips pursed into a warm smile. "They're really beautiful."

"Thank you? I had never gotten a compliment on my eyes before. Guess you're the first person to compliment me." I said with a slight smirk.

We stood there, staring at each other. Wouldn't I be called a freak if I say, I didn't want this moment to end?

"Let's go?" She asked.

It's not like we're going on some date or anything, we're just going to hang out together.

"Sure, but can I know the name of a place?"

"Just come along with me."

I couldn't stop the hiss escaping my lips that she didn't miss when she grabbed the gentle hold of my wrist that is covered with red scratches and marks.

She quickly turned around to look at me and I could see her eyes showing great concern.

"It's nothing." I quickly said before she could ask anything.

"You sure?"

No, I'm not okay.

All I wanted to scream and cry and let it all out because it's killing me inside but all I did was try to reassure her with a fake smile plastered on my face.

She didn't seem convinced neither with my answer nor with my smile. She just continued to stare at me, unblinkingly.

"We should go now." I bit my lip, scratching the back of my neck, nervously.
