4:00 PM –

After two hours of planning and thinking about the entire escape thing, I walked out of Sophia's room. I felt this crazy rush of adrenaline running down my body. I have never imagined myself doing this, turning into a criminal. I will be murdering my dreams, professor's dreams and probably cause the entire team many troubles, for him, the guy who I just met, two weeks only and he could have this unexplainable impact on me, I don't know who he really is and where he came from, but I know he is innocent and he needs me, probably just as much as I need him.

I stepped inside my room, Olivia was not here yet, in fact nobody was, the residence is so quiet. I grabbed my black oversized bag and filled it with the clothes I need for me and some for Alvin, well, I had to steal some clothes from Alexander's closet for Alvin. I grabbed the wallet and the car keys too.

I had no idea where are we going to go next and to whom. I chose to not think about any of this yet, at least we need to get out of here first, let's not jump into conclusions. After finishing the packing, I sat on the bed, next to the window, processing the plan over and over again, praying for heavens above to carry us on its wings of safety.

I took glance at the sky. The gloom of the day was reflected in the thick cotton clouds. Grey carpeted the sky so completely that even the street-lamps shone feebly into the perpetual twilight at early time of the noon. The air was heavy with the dampness of a coming storm and even the creatures knew to seek shelter. It was quiet out, unnaturally so. The sky knew, the sky felt it too.

"Elyse!" her voice startled me, Olivia, she is finally back with good news, I could easily tell from the way her eyes shone and her body bounced in happiness, "I got them!" she handed me a small box, I opened the box and traced my hands over the cold syringes, these syringes will be my way out of here, the liquid they contain is all I need to numb the fear.

I looked up at her with nothing but gratitude "thank you!" I hugged her, feeling bad for leaving them all here, after she helped me, I will be the one who destroys her dreams.

"Be careful!" she genuinely smiled. I smiled back and looked at the clock, it was time to move. "I need to go!" I said, giving her one last hug before I walked out of the door for once and for all.

9:00 PM –

The corridor was empty as ever, you can hear nothing but the whistles of the wind outside, the storm has just begun and the sky was already dark and foggy. I lightly opened the door of Sophia's room and there she was, walking around the room nervously, bitting her lower lip over and over again. "You are here!" she shattered, like she didn't expect me to actually do it, she thought I would back off and cancel it, but I would never.

"Wear this!" I gave her a jacket and shoes, "it is cold outside!" I said

She grabbed the things from me and obeyed my instructions carefully. After she got herself ready, we stayed there, waiting for the footsteps we needed to hear eagerly, Stephan.

"I'm worried about Alvin!" I mumbled, I couldn't hide the fact that I was so worried about him and how is he going to react to the outer world.

"It is the best for him, don't worry." She gently smiled, giving me some comfort but that comfort was soon replaced with stress and restlessness. Stephan's footsteps echoed in the corridor, along with another man, walked towards Alvin's room.

"it is time!" I whispered and she nodded.

We walked out of her room and followed them quietly, they were fast and firm, their steps calculated and organized. They stopped next to Alvin's door, aggressively pushing it open. by then, it was our chance to make the move.

I held the syringe in my hand and Sophia did the same, we stood right behind them, with shaky hands and racing heartbeats, we pushed the serum on their necks. Sophia took the man while I took Stephan, I have always wanted to do this, he annoyed me and pissed me off whenever he talked, but now he had no chance to talk or man up, he was lying like a dead corpse on the floor, I wanted him to taste a little bit of his medicine, the medicine he used to pour on Alvin's body all these years.

I looked up and met those dark heavenly made eyes, staring at me with a complete shock and confusion. I knew what he was thinking, or what he wanted to say but couldn't, he thought I was different, but now he sees me just like them, a criminal, a monster.

That was never my aim, but I had to go through this to save you.

I rushed towards him, feeling every inch of my body trembling at his intense glare. Sophia in the other hand, stood at the door, staring awkwardly at Alvin. She was afraid of him and he wasn't comfortable at her presence either.

"Alvin, let's go!" I grabbed his arm and tried to push him up, but he yanked it away. his eyes were darker than ever, his jawline sharp and his veins appearing in every inch of his neck. "Never touch me again!" he muttered, anger shinning on his eyes.

"Not now!" I raised my hand up, I was ready to argue with him and even be tough on him if I had to.

"Let's leave!" I again grabbed his arm, but this time his reaction was different, he twisted my arm, just like he did the other day to Leyla. His heavy hot breathe hitting my face and sending shivers down my spine.

"Who are you to tell me what to do and what to do not?" he blurted, "You have crossed your limits!"

"I'm trying to help you!" I raised my voice

"We never asked for help, we don't need you!" he immediately threw his words at me. His grip getting tighter and tighter on my arm.

"But I-I need you!" I whispered, tears streaming down my face.

His grip loosened and he took few steps back, completely surprised at what he heard.

"Let me help you both, please!" I begged, feeling weak and tired of everything, I just wanted to leave the place already.

"I can't, this is my home, and this is where I belong and should be!" he calmly said,

"No, you don't belong here..." before I get the chance to finish my sentence he interrupted, "I know no other place than this, monsters like me belong here!"

I shook my head and said "you are not a monster, you never were and you will never be!"

"You don't know me, you don't know what I'm capable of doing. I can kill you without hesitation!" he honestly uttered. I sighed deeply and looked at him than back at Sophia who was just staring at both of us.

"I'm not going anywhere with you!" he concluded his sentence and turned around, ready to go back to his bed, but before he could, I took one step and did it, the thing that I was afraid of most, the thing I never wanted to do to him, but I had to. I gently placed the syringe on his neck and poured the liquid inside his veins. I know I'm nothing different than them now, but this is the best I can do to save him.

The serum won't hurt him, or any of the men on the ground, it will just paralyze them for some hours. Hopefully, we would be out of the asylum by the time they wake up.

"Help me!" I looked and Sophia and she rushed to us and carried Alvin with me. he was heavy, literally heavy and I had no idea how are we going to walk him out of the building.

We stepped out of the room and hurried out, dragging the poor body with us. Before we could reach the main door, we felt the presence ofsomebody, somebody rather than us, we both looked at each other and nervouslylooked behind us, only to see a male figure, standing steadily, his intenseeyes laid on us...
