I sat on the sofa next to Sophia and scrolled down my Twitter news feed, checking the world's news, actually there was nothing really important to watch or even read, so I decided to turn off the phone and just walk around the house, but before I could do so, I got a notification from my calendar, it says -My birthday- I looked at the date and it was 13 June, indeed, my birthday. How come I didn't even notice or remember my own birthday. I sadly chuckled at how stupid I am to forget such a day, but you know what, I'm glad I did, at least to not remember all those memories, the days of yore, when my parents used to stay up all night to sing me a happy birthday song, make me a vanilla ice cream with pink decorations of Barbie and Cinderella, it was the happy times that I will never be able to feel again.

"What's up with that gloomy face?" Sophia asked

"It's my birthday!" I sadly smiled

"Oh really!" she happily clapped, "and why are you sad about it, it's your special day!" she hugged my side and chuckled, "Happy birthday darling!"

I hugged her back and thanked her sincerely for her sweet words. She then stood up and head to the kitchen, "I will try to make a chocolate cake for you!" she said as she checked the ingredients.

"Can it be Vanilla one, please!" I pleaded,

"Anything for you!" she nodded, "and I will also make the lunch, but meanwhile, why don't you go out with Alvin!" she suggested,

"Go out?" I raised my eyebrows,

"To buy the candles since we don't have any!" she winked at me. Well, it's not a bad idea after all, it will be great to take Alvin out and show him the world, but will he accept!!

"Okay!" I cheerfully agreed and rushed upstairs, straight to his room.

I forgot to knock and I just stormed inside the room, he was sitting on the bed and holding a book on his hand. Odd, I never thought he can actually read, I mean to be interested in a book. "what are you reading?" I sat on the bed and tried to read the title of the book but he kept hiding it from me, "Stop invading my personal space!" he gently pushed me away, still trying to hide the book from me.

"Just let me see what you are reading!" I fought and successfully snatched the book from his hands, I looked at the title and I was absolutely amazed, "The notebook!" I half shouted, "I can't believe you are actually reading this!"

"I was just checking it out!" he tried to hide his embarrassment

"It's a love story!" I chuckled, "Are you interested in love stories?" I teased him.

"No!" he shouted, "plus, why are you here?" he snatched the book from me and threw it away.

"I'm here to ask you out, I mean can you accompany me to buy some candles?" I pleaded, I know he is going to reject, "No!" he said and I knew it.

"Please, today everyone is supposed to obey my orders!" I pouted, "It's my birthday!"

His face softened when I mentioned my birthday and he suddenly looked the other way, like he was trying to hide his facial expressions, he didn't want me to see those soft eyes of his.

"Okay, as you wish!" I mumbled and stood up, ready to leave the room. 'Please Alvin stop me, please' I mentally begged him but there was nothing coming out of him. Mission failed.

I swung the door open and stepped out until he suddenly uttered "What if they recognize us?"

I peeked from the door "No, I promise they won't!" I said with a grin on my lips. He stood up and approached me with his hands on the jogger's pockets. So attractive.
