Chapter 25

You stared at your ceiling. Suddenly, someone opened your door.

"Yah, wake up---oh, you're awake already," Daniel said as he sat on your bed.

"How're the others?" You asked, still staring at the ceiling.

"Still asleep..." He answered.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"I don't know." You answered. It was true though.

"How's that?" Daniel asked you. He looked at you.

"I'm confused, oppa, very confused." You said.

"Hm? Why?" He asked again.

"I'm doing it all over again. These stupid feelings for them just kept on coming back and I don't know how to stop it. I seriously want it to stop to prevent myself from getting hurt again." You said. Daniel sighed as he laid down with you.

"I can't believe I'm telling you this but...you can't stop your heart nor dictate what it should feel you know? Your case is just normal, love is complicated Jiyeon and you have to accept that and go with it." Daniel said.

"You think I should just let it be?" You asked, this time, looking at your brother. He replied by humming.

"But if you really want to stop it, you can try. It's your choice not mine nor anyone else's. But just remember that you won't completely succeed." Daniel said. You nodded and smiled at him.

"I'm not used to you smiling without your braces." He said. You hit him on his arm.

"Ow!" He yelped.

"That's what you get! Hmph!" You said. He only laughed. Your eyes softened.

"Thanks, oppa." You said.

"Wow, suddenly?" He asked with his eyes wide.

"Yah, I'm serious here!" You whined.

"Alright, alright..." He said and then laughed.

"I want you to always remember that I'm always right here for you anytime and anywhere, yeah?" He said as he patted your head.

"Aigoo, you two are so sweet that it makes me want to cry," Jisung said.

"Shut up," You said.

"I'm off!" You yelled as you closed the door.

"Take care!" The boys yelled.

You turned to walk to the bus stop but before you can even do that, you stopped in your tracks.

The boys looked at you, they were just walking to the bus stop when they heard you. They almost forgot that they were in front of your house.

You tried to look away and to open the door again but your brother locked it already.

The boys stared at you while you stared back at them for 30 seconds.

Bad timing Jiyeon! Bad timing! 

You yelled mentally.

You hesitantly walked in their direction.

You looked away when you were near them and you successfully walked past them. The moment you did, you breathed out in relief. You didn't know that you were holding your breath.

But as you were walking, you felt eyes on you.

Are they watching me from behind?!

You mentally panicked as you became self-conscious.

You were too distracted that you didn't notice that there was an upcoming bike in your direction.

"Miss, look out!" The boy yelled.

Your first instinct was to close your eyes and stay still. You were waiting for the bike to hit you but it never came. Instead, you heard someone else groaned.

You hesitantly opened your eyes to found yourself in someone's chest. You tilted your head upward to meet Jinwoo's eyes. Worry instantly spread all over your body.

"Oh my god! Are you ok?!" You asked as you checked on him.

"Are you ok, mister?" The boy asked.

"Yeah, don't worry about it," Jinwoo replied.

The boy nodded and glared at you.

And again, you felt yourself coming back to old you. Anxiety and self-conscious spread throughout your body.

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean to do that! I'm really sorry! I won't do it again!" You said as you bowed at the boy continuously.

"You better not do it again." The boy continued to glare at you as he rode on his bike. Soon, he was gone.

You turned to Jinwoo.

"Aish! Why did you have to do that?!" You yelled at him, suddenly feeling mad at yourself. You noticed him look down.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you." You mumbled.

"Thank you," You said. You bowed and then continued to walk.

While walking,  you still felt their eyes on you.

"Eonnie," A small voice said. You looked at the tree beside you, you found a small girl in her uniform. You walked to her.

"Yes?" You asked.

"Can you get Ginger there?" She asked as she pointed at the tree.

Your eyes followed the direction where she was pointing and found the cat high up on the branch of the tree. You wanted to help the little girl really bad but you can't risk yourself to be seen by other people.

You bit your lips hesitantly.

"Oppas and eonnie will get it for you but you need to go and get his food first, ok?" Myungjun said. The little girl excitedly nodded and skipped away.

Myungjun turned to you and smiled softly. Your heart skipped a beat.

"Go," He simply said.

"What?" You asked.

"Go, get the cat. We'll cover you." Minhyuk said. You nodded.

"Wait, before I do that, promise me that ya'll won't look up, alright?" You felt your cheeks heat up as you said that. They nodded as they blushed too.

You looked at your surroundings one last time before you felt yourself floating higher and higher. You quickly grabbed the cat with you.

"Alright, you all can look at me now." You said as you patted the cat's head.

"Eonnie!" The little girl yelled holding the cat's food as she ran in your direction. The cat immediately hopped on the little girl's arms.

"Thank you so much eonnie and to all of you too oppas!" The little girl beamed.

"Areum-ah!" You all heard a lady yelled. The little girl gasped.

"Bye to all of you! Thank you so much again!" The girl bowed as she ran in the lady's direction.

"Eomma! I found Ginger already!" Areum, the little girl yelled. Her mother smiled in your direction and waved. You all bowed.

"Thank you all so much!"
