Tamaki Amajiki was your typical shy, highschool boy. Aside from his elf-like pointed ears of course. He primarily kept to himself, and the largest group of people he would hang out with would be UA's Big Three. Which consisted of himself, Mirio Togota and Nejire Hado. Tamaki only felt truly comfortable around these two. It was easy to understand why with Mirio, they had been extremely close since Kindergarten as they were on a first basis. Nejire, on the other hand, was difficult. Her and Tamaki's personalities completely conflicted one another. Nejire was bubbly, curious and outgoing. But Tamaki was more calm, quiet and kept to himself. And yet, the two got on extremely well. Almost as well as Mirio and Tamaki got along. But Nejire knew she could never reach that. After all, the two had been friends for a very long time.
"Hey, Hey! Amajiki!" Nejire's familiar bubbly voice called. The classroom was empty except for the two. Tamaki was sat on his desk, finishing up his notes as Nejire stood over him.
"What is it Hado...?" Tamaki asked quietly, looking up at the girl in front of him.
"How long until you're done? You said you were going to go to my dorm right? You said we could play video games! And we could train our quirks together!" The blue-haired girl rambled as she was clearly excited. Tamaki blushed slightly as he looked back down at his paper. His hands glided along the paper as he finally finished his work. "I'm done now..." He mumbled, slowly standing up as he placed his bag into his desk. He slid the piece of paper into his bag before placing his bag onto his back.
"R-Ready...?" He asked quietly before stuffing his hands into his pockets. Nejire threw her left hand in front of her, her fingertips pointing to the ceiling as she smiled brightly "Yep!" She called. The two began to walk, Nejire excitingly rambling on about her day as Tamaki quietly listened. Nejire always seemed to have something to talk about, not that Tamaki was complaining. He enjoyed listening to her talk. Ironically enough it was oddly calming to him. Despite her enormous amounts of enthusiasm. A small smile crossed his face as he turned his head to the right slightly. There was Nejire, her hair flowing gently as they walked. She was trying to mimic the sound of one of their classmate's quirk. It was amusing to him, as she acted like a young girl discussing their favourite heroes. Once Nejire's little demonstration had ended, she looked up. Both her and Tamaki's eyes locked, she caught a glimpse of his smile and couldn't help herself. She squealed slightly, clapping her hands together before suddenly wrapping her arms around his neck. "Your smile is so cute!" She giggled, holding him close to her as a bright smile rested on her face.
Tamaki blushed deeply. He was extremely embarrassed now because; one, Nejire was practically hugging him and two, she had just seen him smile and was making a commotion about it. "H-Hado..." He let out quietly "I-" He began, but soon cut himself off "I wanna go home..." He mumbled, blushing still as he tried not to stare at the young lady in front of him. Nejire pulled away from the hug and smiled brightly at him "Sorry Amajiki!" She giggled, rubbing the back of her neck "Your smile was just really cute" She added that in a quiet tone, realising that was the reason he was getting so embarrassed. "You're still going to my dorm! Right?" She asked, putting her index finger up as she placed her left hand on her hip.
"Y-Yeah..." He mumbled, beginning to walk again as his blush never really faded. Nejire quickly followed behind, humming softly as she began to skip. Her long blue hair flowed as she went slightly faster than Tamaki. The shy male blushed slightly more as he gazed at Nejire. She was like a fairy to him, a perfect and innocent fairy. He secretly really wanted her to hug him again, but he was too awkward to say that. What if she hated him? What if she thought he was a weirdo?
He let out a heavy exhale as the two neared Nejire's dorm. A strange, confusing feeling began to build up inside Tamaki's body as he gazed again at the delighted Nejire. He had never felt this way about anyone. It was a warm, fuzzy feeling. He wanted to be close to Nejire, but he felt flustered around her and he couldn't think straight.
Nejire, on the other hand, knew exactly what this feeling was. Her other best friend, Yuyu Haya, had told her exactly what they were. Love. At first, she couldn't wrap her head around it. But now, it all makes sense. Tamaki was one of the first people who truly made her feel comfortable, who made her feel accepted. After the Cultural Festival, the two had grown even closer and started hanging out every day after school as they waited for Mirio to return to school.
"W-What do you want to do first... Hado?" Tamaki asked, looking at Nejire. The girl jolted slightly, getting lost in her thoughts. A warm red colour coated her cheeks before she smiled sweetly "We can play some video games! Or do you just wanna talk for a bit?" She asked. She seemed really enthusiastic as she happily sat on her bed, patting the space next to her for Tamaki to sit on. The purple-haired male sat next to her and thought for a few seconds "I... Kinda just wanna talk..." He mumbled, slowly becoming comfortable with the environment he was in. The blue-haired girl gave him a warm smile before turning to face him with her legs crossed.
"What do you want to talk about?" She asked, tilting her head to the side as her blue hair moved too. Tamaki jumped slightly before scratching his cheek. "E-Erm..." He stuttered, looking to the side as his brain was scrambling to string a response together "H-How was your day?" He asked quietly, looking down at his legs as he blushed.
"My day?" She asked before smiling brightly "My day was so good! I got to hang out with Yuyu! Oh! I also did really well on the quirk training test! And, and! I find a really cute kitten!" It seemed like Nejire could go on for hours about her day. Not that Tamaki minded at all, quite the opposite, he really enjoyed hearing all about her day; it was just her passion and enthusiasm about it all.
"Erm, Amajiki?" Nejire asked, her soft voice snapping him out of his thoughts "You're staring again" She giggled sweetly, not bothered in the slightest.Tamaki blushed deeply, covering his face with his hands "I'm sorry" He mumbled, clearly extremely flustered as continued to hide his face away with his hands. The joyful Nejire laughed sweetly, a soft tint of red covering her pale cheeks as she slowly shuffled closer to Tamaki. She wrapped her arms around his waist and pulled him into a hug, a warm smile crossing her lips as she hummed softly. "No need to get all flustered" she laughed sweetly, resting her head on his shoulder.
Tamaki was extremely flustered now, his face was a bright shade of red before he slowly wrapped his arms around Nejire's body. A warm, comforting feeling slowly replaced Tamaki's nervousness. Holding Nejire's warm, soft body close seemed to be the one thing he really needed that day. A slow, quiet exhale escaped his lips as he began to stutter "H-Hado..." He began quietly, whispering in the girl's ear "Thank you..." Those words made Nejire blush, it was something she always wanted to hear from Tamaki. She held him closer and smiled before resting her head on his shoulder "It's okay... Tamaki..." She whispered in his ear, carefully running her hand up and down his back.
"Nejire..." Tamaki mumbled, feeling strange for using her first name but he quickly brushed it off "Will... You... W-Will you... Will you go out with me?" Tamaki asked, blushing deeply as he continued to hold Nejire close. He didn't want her to leave him.
"Tamaki... I would love that!" Nejire giggled sweetly, holding her new partner close to her as a bright smile crossed her mouth. She had never felt happier. After hearing what Nejire said, Tamaki couldn't hold back a smile even if he tried. He carefully ran his hand up and down her spine before sighing softly. The woman, who meant the most to him. The woman, who helped him break out of the first layer of his shell. Was now, his partner. And he couldn't have felt happier.
