Thirty One

I was counting the days in my head when Gio stole a kiss from me, making me start all over again.

"Gio, I'm counting!" suway ko sa kanya.

"Counting what?" he asked quizzically.

We were on our way to my office and we just dropped Clyde to school. Hindi ko napansin na stop light pala kaya nahuli niya akong malalim ang iniisip.

"The days, we did it numerous times without a condom. I am counting if we're safe."

"You're clean. I'm clean. For what is the condom?"

I jerked my head to look at him like he lost his damn mind. "Baka mabuntis ako? I'm not on pill and getting me pregnant is not really what we want right now." I clearly said.

Gio's lip pressed into a thin line. "You don't want me to get you pregnant?"

"Right now. Not right now." I quickly supplied. I know he is disappointed, but we have to be clear on this type of things.

"You really have a knack on planning things." He uttered after, clearly not happy with where our conversation is headed.

"Nagsisimula pa lang kasi tayo. I hope you understand. Bringing a baby isn't really going to help us right now. Maybe soon, but not right now." Ulit ko.

The chagrined expression on his face dissipated as soon as he heard my reasons. He stopped by our usually parking space and took one of my hand in his.

"You're right. It was selfish of me to think that getting you pregnant is the next step. I didn't take into the account that you'll be the one who will shoulder if not all but almost all the burden and hardships if that happens. I'm sorry."

My eyes turned misty. God, I'm such a lucky woman to call him mine. He is really channeled to his feminine side that he knows and understands what I feel. Kung mag-aaway man kami, he makes sure that he'll apologize first. Lagi niyang sinasabi na wala siyang pakialam kung sino ang tama o mali, ang importante sa kanya ay maayos namin ang problema.

"It's okay but I'm glad we cleared that up." I said and gave him a toothy grin.

He gave me that lop-sided I love so much before pulling me in a long, sweet kiss.

"But you have to promise me that after I put a ring on your finger, you will give me a child after our honeymoon."

Is that an indirect proposal?

He seemed to enjoy my expression because he chuckled before telling me that I only have 6 minutes to getting late. Kaya hindi ko na nasagot 'yong sinabi niya. I gave him a hasty kiss before I scurried down his car and into the elevator. I didn't even know if I answered him properly when he told he that he'll meet me by lunch.

My problem in the office also got resolved a few weeks passed. Noong sinabi ni Gio na inaasikaso na nga niya, he wasn't kidding. Dahil pagkatapos ng dalawang araw, Levi, Cube, Brinx, Ferris, and Gio graced our site a visit.

Of course, they let Ferris do all the talking and leave it to him on getting to the point without beating around the bush. He threatened that if the people in question wouldn't present themselves and confessed, he will do all the necessary things to make their life a living hell.

And everyone who knows Ferris will wallow in fear, because when he says it, he means it.

Kaya umamin na lang ang nakakalat ng mga chismis. Nalaman namin na hindi lang pala ako o 'yong junior na nabanggit ko noon ang nabiktima. Marami pa pala. Ang hindi ko lang ma-gets ay kung anong napapala nila sa pam-bu-bully. But I didn't put effort into knowing their reasons.
