Warriors: Eclipsepaw's Hatred (Complete)

Chapter 12

 A week passed since Eclipsepaw fought Leopardpaw and Violetpaw. They stopped bullying Butterflypaw, but it was official now. Eclipsepaw and Butterflypaw weren't friends anymore, although the black-and-ginger she-cat tried many times to apologize.

 The black-and-white she-cat continued to train in the Dark Forest, and she tried her best to show that she was a loyal cat to ThunderClan so she could get her warrior name. Dreamstar had no idea what happened to the three apprentices, and they lied that they got attacked by a fox.

 Eclipsepaw padded back to camp with Gorsefoot. She carried a squirrel and a mouse. She padded over to the fresh-kill pile and dropped the prey. She then looked around. What should I do now?

 She then felt a paw on her tail. She turned, but noticed Ashkit, Yarrowkit and Owlkit, who were trying to play with her tail.

 ''Oh, hello Eclipsepaw!'' Owlkit purred. Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. These kits are five moons old, and they still want to play with warriors' or apprentices' tails?

 ''You want to play with my tail?'' She asked. 

 Ashkit nodded. ''Please, we're bored!'' He meowed. 

 ''Too bad. I'm bored too, go play with someone else.'' Eclipsepaw hissed.

 ''But we don't know with who!'' Owlkit meowed. 

 ''Nobody wants to play with us, everyone is busy!'' Yarrowkit sighed. 

 ''Your father?'' Eclipsepaw asked. 

 ''He's in a patrol.'' Ashkit meowed.

 ''Mother?''

 ''She went outside to hunt.''

 ''Sweet StarClan!'' Eclipsepaw meowed. She felt a little sympathy for the kits, but she brushed it off. ''Just play with yourselves, then.'' Eclipsepaw suggested. 

 Owlkit shook his head. ''But we played a lot of games, and don't know what to play now!''

 ''Have you tried playing the Clan game?'' The apprentice asked. She just wanted to escape from the kits.

 ''What's that?'' Ashkit asked, curious. 

 ''Well, you act like one of you is the leader of a Clan, one is deputy, and the other one is a medicine cat. For example, erm, Owlkit is leader, Ashkit is deputy, and Yarrowkit is a medicine cat.''

 ''But I don't want to be a medicine cat, I want to be a warrior!'' Yarrowkit protested. 

 Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. ''It's just a game, it's not like you will actually become a medicine cat.'' She paused. ''Besides, you can't. Both Wishlight and Turtlenight are alive.''

 ''We'll try that, thanks!'' Owlkit smiled and padded away. His siblings followed. Finally! But before she could move, Barkclaw hurried to her.

 ''Eclipsepaw?'' He meowed. 

 Eclipsepaw got up and looked at her father. 

 ''Could you go on a patrol with Spiderstorm, Floodfrost and Graylake?'' He asked. 

 Eclipsepaw nodded. ''Where are they?'' She asked. 

 ''Waiting for you at the entrance.'' Barkclaw gave his daughter a few licks on her shredded left ear before turning and padding away. 

 I'm not a kit anymore! Eclipsepaw thought, annoyed, and ran to the entrance.

 ''Here you are!'' Graylake purred. 

 ''We can go hunt now.'' Spiderstorm meowed. Eclipsepaw nodded. It's not like I had anything better to do.

 Right before they left, Softheart and Butterflypaw padded in the camp. The black-and-ginger apprentice stopped and looked at Eclipsepaw, but the black-and-white she-cat just rushed out of camp. Can't she just leave me alone?

 ''Eclipsepaw, what happened between you and Butterflypaw?" Floodfrost asked. 

 ''Yeah, since you came from the patrol with Leopardpaw and Violetpaw, you don't even talk or look at each other.'' Spiderstorm meowed.

 What do I say? ''We aren't friends anymore.'' Eclipsepaw answered. 

 ''How come so? You had such a strong bond!'' Graylake asked, curious.

 ''She just annoyed me. We decided it's best if we aren't friends anymore.'' Eclipsepaw meowed. It's none of your business! She thought, trying not to hiss at them.

 Floodfrost nodded, although Graylake and Spiderstorm seemed suspicious. The blue-gray tom led them towards the Sandy Hollow. But before they got there, they heard a yowl.

 ''What was that?'' Graylake asked. 

 Spiderstorm sniffed the air. ''Rogues!'' She growled and rushed off. Floodfrost, Graylake and Eclipsepaw followed. The apprentice already unsheathed her claws. She knew someone was attacked by the rogues. 

But when they reached where the yowl came from, Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. Violetpaw and Leopardpaw were attacked by six rogues. Let's just leave them here. Eclipsepaw thought, but she didn't dare to suggest that.

 ''Attack!'' Floodfrost growled and threw himself at the rogues. Graylake and Spiderstorm joined. Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. Well, I guess I have to fight.

 She jumped at a brown rogue, who looked surprised. Eclipsepaw instantly clawed his right eye and bit on his paw. The rogue yowled and bit hard on her right ear, shredding it a little.

 Eclipsepaw hissed and backed off, and when the rogue got up and tried to pin Eclipsepaw down, she dodged and kicked him to a tree.

 The rogue hit the tree and fell on his side. Eclipsepaw ran over to him and clawed his side. The rogue kicked her away and jumped behind her. The apprentice spun around and bit hard on his ear before he could do anything.

 Graylake rushed to help Eclipsepaw. She let out a hiss. I don't need help!

 The rogue, who already had some wounds, looked at both Graylake and Eclipsepaw in fear. Graylake snarled and clawed his back while Eclipsepaw held him down and from time to time slashed at his shoulder.

 The brown tabby desperately tried to get free. Graylake backed off, and Eclipsepaw bit the rogue's paw before letting go. He got up and ran away. 

 Graylake jumped at Violetpaw's aid, who was pinned by a white rogue. Eclipsepaw really didn't want to help Leopardpaw or even Violetpaw, so she jumped on top of a ginger rogue.

 ''Get out of our territory!'' Eclipsepaw hissed and clawed his neck. Since the rogue was very wounded, he managed to get himself free and fled. Most of the rogues ran away, only a gray she-cat remained, staring at the Clan cats. Eclipsepaw got up. That was fast.

 The gray she-cat spat something that Eclipsepaw didn't hear and ran away. Spiderstorm narrowed her eyes after the rogues and turned. ''We all fought well. Especially Violetpaw, Eclipsepaw and Leopardpaw.''

 ''Indeed.'' Floodfrost agreed. ''I know we aren't their mentors, but I think they're ready to become warriors. They proved their loyalty, and fought well now.''

 Eclipsepaw looked surprised. She was going to become a warrior!

 ''Butterflypaw should become a warrior, too. Softheart told me that she passed her warrior assessment yesterday, and that she managed to chase a rogue off of our territory alone.'' Graylake meowed. Floodfrost nodded.

 Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. At least she was going to become a warrior too. Violetpaw and Leopardpaw looked excited, and Eclipsepaw let out a purr. Wait, I'm going to become a warrior! Finally!

 Floodfrost flicked his tail. ''Let's just head back to camp and explain what happened.'' He meowed and led the cats back to camp. Eclipsepaw followed.

 Even if Butterflypaw, Violetpaw and Leopardpaw will become warriors with me, I'll just try to be a loyal warrior and ignore them. I will be the best warrior of ThunderClan.
