Warriors: Eclipsepaw's Hatred (Complete)

Chapter 7

 ''What are you, a kittypet or a Clan cat?''

 Eclipsepaw growled. This was the first time she was training in the Dark Forest. She had Thistlefang pinned at her paws, but before she could do anything, Bramblehiss rushed towards them and pushed her off of Thistlefang.

 ''It's not fair!'' Eclipsepaw hissed. ''There's two of you, and I'm only one!'' She protested. 

 Bramblehiss laughed. ''Well, my dear apprentice, in any battle that can happen, you may have to fight two cats by yourself. Or worse, three, or even more.''

 ''But this is the first time I'm training here! Aren't you supposed to be soft with me?'' Eclipsepaw asked. 

 ''Soft?'' Thistlefang laughed. ''This is the Dark Forest, we aren't soft here. Not even on the first day of training.''

 Eclipsepaw rolled her eyes. ''Well, it's not like I'll fight Violetpaw and Leopardpaw one day. I'll just claw them a little bit harder, so they know not to mess with me or Butterflypaw.''

 The black-and-white she-cat noticed the two toms exchange an amused look. ''Are you sure that you'll never fight them?'' Thistlefang asked. 

 ''Of course, I'm not a traitor!'' Eclipsepaw defended herself.

 ''We'll see.'' Eclipsepaw heard Bramblehiss whisper, but she ignored him. 

 ''Now, you'll wake up soon. Listen up.'' Thistlefang meowed.

 ''Every time you wake up after training, you'll have the scratches you got from training here, and that's why you always wake up before your mentor wakes you up, or whatever, so you can come up with an excuse.'' Bramblehiss continued.

 ''But good excuses. At some point, Dreamstar or any other cat may not believe your lies. Sometimes, you have to hide your wounds.'' Thistlefang finished. Eclipsepaw nodded. She had a small wound on her muzzle, and she had scratches all over her paws.

 ''Next time you come here, we'll actually teach you a fighting move. A real one.'' Thistlefang meowed, and right then, Eclipsepaw woke up.

 She opened her eyes and looked around. All the other apprentices were still asleep, and she noticed that she really had the wounds she gained from training in the Dark Forest.

 ''Great.'' She whispered, and quietly padded out of the apprentices' den and looked around. There were a few cats out of their dens, and she ran towards the exit of the camp, but bumped into a cat.

 ''Eclipsepaw? What are you doing?'' She heard a cat ask. She looked up and saw Softheart, Butterflypaw's mentor. 

 ''Well.. I want to go and patrol by myself.''

 ''Why do you have wounds?'' The silver she-cat asked. 

 Oh, great! ''Huh? Well, uhh..''

 Tell her you went out of camp earlier and a fox attacked you! Eclipsepaw heard a voice. She recognized Thistlefang's sharp voice. ''Earlier, I went out of camp and a fox attacked me, but I decided not to wake up Wishlight or Turtlenight to treat my wounds.''

 ''How come I didn't see you?'' Softheart asked. 

 ''Uhh, you probably didn't look the way I was leaving. And when I came back, I didn't see you.'' Eclipsepaw meowed.

 ''Well, I'll tell Dreamstar right away about the fox. Where was it?'' Softheart asked. 

 ''Uhh.. near the.. the ShadowClan border.'' Eclipsepaw lied again.

 The older she-cat nodded. ''Now, head straight for the medicine cat's den. I'll tell Dreamstar.'' Softheart meowed and headed off. 

 Eclipsepaw turned and padded towards the medicine cat's den. ''Great, great, great.'' She mumbled.
