Eclipseshine padded out of the warriors' den, yawning. It was the next day, and she thought all night about her plan. Well, not really all night, she managed to sleep a little, but she didn't train in the Dark Forest.

She looked around the camp with her good eye, unsure what to do. I know, I can ruin some of Turtlenight's herbs to make this faster! She looked around, making sure nobody was watching her, then hurried to the medicine cat's den and padded in.

''Hi, Eclipseshine! Do you need anything?'' Turtlenight purred.

Eclipseshine froze. Well, that wasn't what I wanted, but of course she's in her den! Where could she be?

The black-and-white she-cat thought of a plan fast. ''Well, I heard Tigerbite complain about his bones aching. Maybe you can give him something?'' She asked.

Turtlenight looked confused, but then nodded and turned. She took some herbs. ''Thank you for telling me!''

The tortoiseshell-and-white medicine cat left the den. Eclipseshine looked after her to make sure she left, and purred when she did. Well, time to get to work.

She padded towards the herbs and looked at them, confused. ''Well, great, I don't know the herbs, so I don't know which ones she needs the most right now.'' She whispered, annoyed.

The black-and-white she-cat then just pushed some herbs on the ground with her paws and stomped on them. She also chewed some berries and then spat them out in a corner. She didn't want to destroy all the herbs, just some.

After some time, she managed to ruin almost half of the herbs, and then carefully padded out of the den and hurried away. She laid down next to the fresh-kill pile and took a squirrel. Then, Turtlenight left the elders' den and padded towards her.

''Eclipseshine? Tigerbite told me that he wasn't complaining about his bones. Well, he still needed the herbs, but he said he didn't complain. Why did you lie?'' She asked, confused.

Oh, great! ''Well, uh.. oh, he didn't complain? I really thought I heard him complain. Sorry.'' Eclipseshine meowed. She lied.

''Well, that's okay. He needed the herbs anyways.'' Turtlenight purred. ''I'll be in my den if you need me. Bye!'' She smiled and padded towards her den.

Eclipseshine stared after her, satisfied. You won't be so happy when you see the mess in your den.

She looked around. I bet Turtlenight will ask me what happened, since I was the last cat in her den. Who should I blame?

Then, she noticed Yarrowpaw and Ashpaw talking together, and noticed Owlpaw padding towards Goldenturtle, his mentor. Perfect! I can blame one of the apprentices!

Eclipseshine heard a yowl soon after she finished eating her squirrel. She got up and looked at the medicine cat's den and saw Turtlenight rushing out of the den, alarmed.

''What's going on?'' She heard some cats whisper.

Dreamstar padded towards the medicine cat's from her den, confused. ''Turtlenight, what happened?'' The leader asked.

''My herbs! They're ruined! Someone came in my den while I was helping Tigerbite, and destroyed them!'' She hissed.

Dreamstar looked confused. ''Do you know which cat came in your den last?''

''Well, I was-'' Turtlenight paused and turned, looking at Eclipseshine. ''Eclipseshine. She was.''

All the cats looked at her. The black-and-white she-cat felt anxious when all the cats looked at her, but she tried to look calm. ''Indeed I was, but that doesn't mean that I ruined your herbs. After you left, I also left. I didn't ruin your herbs.''

''Do you know who could've possibly done it?'' The medicine cat asked, looking desperate.

Eclipseshine noticed Butterflyspirit looking troubled, but she ignored it. ''Well, maybe one of the apprentices? They can get into trouble a lot.''

''Hey, we did nothing!'' Ashpaw hissed. Owlpaw looked surprised, but Yarrowpaw just stood there, silent.

Turtlenight looked at them, but she didn't seem surprised. ''Well, actually, they did mess with my herbs yesterday.''

What a coincidence! Eclipseshine felt surprised by her luck, but still remained calm.

''Well, did one of you destroy my herbs?'' Turtlenight asked.

 Ashpaw shook his head.

 ''I didn't!'' Owlpaw hissed.

 Yarrowpaw said nothing.

 ''Yarrowpaw?"

''...Yes, I did it. I'm sorry.'' Yarrowpaw sighed and got up. ''When you left to help Tigerbite, I came into your den and ruined your herbs. I'm sorry, it seemed fun.''

Hold on, what? That never happened! Then, Eclipseshine understood. The ginger-brown she-cat wanted to take the blame on herself and protect the cat who did it. Brave, but stupid.

''Well, we have found the cat.'' Dreamstar sighed.

Flowertail looked surprised. Swiftleap looked at her daughter, angry. ''How can you do that?''

''I'm sorry!'' Yarrowpaw wailed. ''I didn't know everyone would be so upset!''

Suddenly, Eclipseshine felt bad. Now, Yarrowpaw was going to be punished, and it wasn't her fault. Then, she shook her head. Why should I feel bad? It's her fault. She took the blame.

Turtlenight sighed. ''It's okay. You can help me for a day or two. I can collect new herbs if you help me. You ruined my herbs, so you should be punished.'' She meowed, and looked at Dreamstar. ''Do you agree?''

The silver she-cat looked hesitant, but then nodded. ''Yes, I think it's a good punishment.'' She then looked at Tulipwing, Yarrowpaw's mentor. ''You can train her after Turtlenight gets her destroyed herbs back.''

Tulipwing nodded, looking very surprised. Then, Turtlenight padded towards her den, followed by Yarrowpaw. Butterflyspirit suddenly rushed after them, but Eclipseshine didn't care what her former friend wanted to do. Instead, she left camp.

Well, that was a success. Turtlenight will probably go out of camp to collect herbs, while Yarrowpaw stays back at camp and organizes the herbs.

Then, Eclipseshine suddenly felt dizzy and limped towards a tree. She laid down. What is happening?

She suddenly saw herself and Butterflyspirit in the territory, sniffing the air.

''Do you think we can hunt without our mentors?" Butterflyspirit asked. ''I don't think that's a good idea.'' She whispered.

Her younger self, as it seemed, looked at the black-and-ginger tabby she-cat. ''Of course! We can show our mentors that we can hunt without them!''

Why am I having a memory? Why with us? I don't want to! Eclipseshine hissed, but couldn't say anything. She just watched the scene. Actually.. I do miss our friendship. And Butterflyspirit truly is sorry, or so it seems.

Her younger self and Butterflyspirit disappeared, and Eclipseshine started to think about her choices. Do I really want to kill Turtlenight, just to get my revenge on Butterflyspirit? We were really good friends.. and Butterflyspirit really seems like she regrets calling me a monster.. Is it really necessary?

No, what am I thinking? She broke my heart when she called me a monster! But.. our friendship was very strong. It seems like she really regrets the fact that she called me a monster.. I should go back to camp and say sorry to her.. maybe we can become friends again? I could stop my training in the Dark Forest..

Then, Eclipseshine lashed her tail and got up, padding away. No, I will not stop my training in the Dark Forest, and I will not say sorry to Butterflyspirit. I don't regret anything, this is me now.

And Butterflyspirit must pay for what she has done to me.
