Warriors: Eclipsepaw's Hatred (Complete)

Chapter 16

 Two weeks passed since ThunderClan and ShadowClan attacked the rogues. They didn't come to Clan territory after the fight. At least not in ThunderClan's territory. Wishlight was buried as soon as the cats got back to camp, and Turtlenight patched up everyone's wounds. With a relief, nobody died in the fight. Not even from ShadowClan.

 Eclipseshine padded in the camp with two squirrels and a vole. She went hunting by herself and padded over to the fresh-kill pile. She dropped the prey and laid down, taking a bird from the fresh-kill pile and started to eat it.

 Ashkit, Yarrowkit and Owlkit rushed out of the nursery, looking excited. ''Finally, it's time! We're becoming apprentices!'' Ashkit purred. 

 Yarrowkit flicked her tail. ''How long until Dreamstar calls the meeting?''

 ''She will call the meeting when she can.'' Swiftleap purred and approached his kits. ''She may be busy now, or talking to the cats who will be your mentors, so you have to wait.''

 ''But we waited six moons for this moment!'' Owlkit wailed. 

 ''Well, it won't take a day. Today, Dreamstar will make you apprentices.'' Swiftleap smiled, and Flowertail padded out of the nursery and looked at her kits. 

 ''Are you excited?''

 ''Yes, very!'' Ashkit flicked his ears, excited.

 Swiftleap nuzzled Flowertail. The cream queen purred and looked at her kits. ''Who do you want your mentors to be?''

 ''I don't know, anyone!'' Ashkit smiled. 

 ''Yeah, I also don't know.'' Owlkit meowed. 

 Yarrowkit didn't say anything, she just looked around at all the warriors. When she looked at Eclipseshine, the warrior looked away. I surely won't be your mentor. Dreamstar would've told me.

 ''Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a Clan meeting!'' The ThunderClan leader yowled. 

 Eclipseshine finished her bird and padded over to the meeting. She heard the three kits squeak excitedly, but then she heard Flowertail hissing. The black-and-white she-cat guessed that she wanted to tell them to behave well.

 ''Today, three kits are ready to become apprentices. Yarrowkit, Ashkit and Owlkit, step forward.'' Dreamstar meowed. The three kits quickly stepped forward. Flowertail and Swiftleap followed them from behind until they were right behind them and sat down.

 ''You have reached your sixth moon, and you are all ready to become apprentices.'' Dreamstar meowed. ''Yarrowkit, until you earn your warrior name, you shall be known as Yarrowpaw. Tulipwing will be your mentor.'' She meowed.

 My mother! Eclipseshine looked over at Yarrowpaw, who bounced happily to her new mentor. The white she-cat purred and touched her nose with her new apprentice.

 ''Ashkit, from now on, you shall be known as Ashpaw. Lavenderpurr will be your mentor.''

 Ashpaw quickly got to his paws and rushed to his new mentor and touched his nose with her. The cream she-cat with brown spots whispered something to her new apprentice before he sat down next to her.

 ''And Owlkit, from now on, you shall be known as Owlpaw. Goldenturtle will be your mentor.''

 The new apprentice seemed surprised and turned, sprinting to his new mentor. Goldenturtle purred, amused, and touched her nose with him.

 ''Yarrowpaw! Ashpaw! Owlpaw!'' The Clan chanted. 

 When everyone was silent again, Dreamstar started to speak again. ''There is another announcement I want to make. Tigerbite wants to retire to the elders' den.'' She looked over at him. The orange tom nodded and got up, stepping forward.
