sleep tight, ellie.

DO I HAVE my extra gym clothes, I thought to myself. I don't know if I have gym today, so I brought it just in case. Jeez, I do look like a real soc today. I was wearing a lacy dress with mesh sleeves, but I love this outfit so it's fine by me.

"Settle down, settle down class." Mr. Syme exclaimed over the rattle of the class. Thank god, it's finally fifth period.

"Alright, I decided to put the essay on hold, and do a new assignment which doesn't take that much effort. It's a partner project, and I will be picking who you're paired with. I will tell you guys who you're paired with first, then I'll give you instructions."

Mr. Syme started naming off people from our class, thankfully Cherry was already called off so I didn't have to worry about being paired with her.

"Ponyboy Curtis and Eleanor Collins, you guys are partners." He said, looking down at his paper. My face lit up, I was paired with my friend, or I think he's my friend? I hope he thinks we're friends.

"Hey, stranger." He greeted me, smiling. I grinned at him and I took a seat next to him. The topic was to write about one problem that each of us agree on, that we have in the present. We decided to meet after school to work together at the park.

"Well, is it okay if we stop by my house? I got to tell my mom I won't be going straight home." I asked, hoping that it wasn't too much of a bother.

"Yeah, that's fine. Your house isn't very far, anyway." he replied. I showed a friendly smile, then walked to sixth period.

School ended, and I met Ponyboy outside of school. We started walking to my house, and finally arrived at our destination. I let him wait outside, while I went inside.

"Hey El, what's up?" My mom said, cleaning the living room.

"Hi mom, I was gonna tell you that I'm going to a friend's house to work on a project. Is that okay?" I ask.

"Yeah, that's fine, I'm going to work today so here's the store number if you need anything." She handed me a piece of paper with her store number. I thanked her, then went back outside to Ponyboy. We walked to the park, then sat at a bench.

Our idea for our essay was about the title that everyone in this area receives; Soc's and Greasers. Coincidentally, eventually a nice looking car pulled up to the park. I threw my head back and groaned.
