you're just a fake, fucked up, lost cause.

"SODA, C'MON WE'RE going back." I shot up and marched back towards the house. I could hear Soda's footsteps follow behind me.

"Please don't hurt them too bad." He worriedly begged. I smirked at his comment.

"Oh, I won't hurt them." I reassured, stepping closer to the house. I wasn't sure if this was the best idea to others, but in my head it was quite clever. Besides, it's her words against her.

"What're you gonna do?" Sodapop asked, curious. I turned back at him then hesitated to tell him. I guess he just had to watch and see.

"I guess you'll just have to watch and see." I replied, continuing to walk towards the house. We inched closer and closer until we were past the gate. I took a deep breath, gathering all my will power to act out towards Tessa. Plus, I usually wouldn't do that if I were in the right state of mind.

"Here goes nothing." I mutter to myself. I let Sodapop walk in first, then I went in, slamming the door behind me so they knew I was back. Heads spun around towards me, and I stayed silent.

"Why the dramatic entrance, El?" Two-bit joked, I maintained a straight face, and headed straight to the kitchen. Darry was in there cooking, so I tried my best to keep out of his way, while still accomplishing my plan.

I grabbed a cup, and filled it almost to the brim with water. As I left the kitchen, I swiftly grabbed a small towel with me. I tried my best to keep these hidden behind my back as I approached everyone else, including Ponyboy and Tessa. I listened in on their conversations before they actually noticed me.

"Good lord, she is psycho." I heard Tessa whisper to Ponyboy, not acknowledging me. Ponyboy didn't respond in words, but just nodded. It did hurt for a while.

To think that your once best friend, and hopefully comes back to you after this, can believe someone with just words. No actual evidence or proof of me actually hitting Tessa. I then smirked at the thought. The effort she must've went through to try and ruin my life.

She had to go through the process of trying to meet Ponyboy, and convincing him by her looks, which were quite fake just by glancing at her. The way she had to trick him by going on dates with him, and being his girlfriend, just so she can ruin me. I guess it was killing a two birds with one stone, you leave Ponyboy hurt, and me, ruined.

"Hey, you want some water?" I ask, causing Tessa to slightly jump at my voice. She scoffed at me, then gave me a small push.

"No thanks, it's probably infected by your nasty germs." She replied, using her annoying, snarky voice. I could hear a few of the other boys mumble about what she just said.

"Oh okay I just-" I started to say, then I stopped and faked a slip. I didn't actually fall to the ground, but I made it seem like I slipped on water that fell to the ground. My cup stayed in my hand, but the water that the cup contained was long gone, and launched onto Tessa's face. Perfect.

"What the heck? My eye, the one that's bruised because of you, is now wet!" She emphasized on you, knowing that the rest of the gang didn't know.

"Hey, c'mon El-" Steve began to say, standing up. I couldn't believe it.

"Nuh-uh." I hushed him, I need them to know what really happened.

"I didn't know that water hurts bruises, but let me dry off your face." Before she could swat my hand away, I swiftly took my towel from behind my back, and swiped it across her face, causing her "bruise" to smear everywhere. I faked a surprised look on my face.

"Oh, your bruises smear off? Huh, never seen that before." I smirked while saying my little sentence, then turned my head towards the boys. Every single one of them looked shocked, except for Johnny and Dallas, of course. They were smiling away.

"It's your words against yourself." I commented, laughing at her, since she was staring at me with her mouth wide open.

"You stupid, slut. You really just want attention from all the boys you can get, don't you?" She pushed me harder, causing me to stumble back, but my expression didn't change at all.

"Actually, it seems the opposite." Two-bit added in, snickering. Most importantly, Ponyboy had the biggest face of disbelief. It was like he was ashamed and taken aback. He should be.

"Tessa, get out. I'll talk to you later." Ponyboy said, blandly. He didn't even bother to look at her, as he walked past, but before he completely left, he whispered something to me.

"Go to the backyard in about 15 minutes." With that, he went outside the front door, to talk to Tessa. Before Tessa followed, she growled in my ear.

"you're just a fake, fucked up, lost cause. I will make sure of ruining your life." Then, she left outside to. I shook of her comment, as a threat with no action.

"Tessa, why would you do that?" I questioned.

"You don't understand, baby." She took this innocent, angel kind of voice, and I couldn't take if. How could she act like this after she had lied to me. And to think that I believed it, that I hurt Ellie for something she didn't do. I had chosen this poser for my once best friend.

"Don't call me baby, just leave. Get out of this property." She opened her mouth to say something to me, and I stopped her immediately.

"Just leave, get out!" I had yelled in her face. Usually, I wouldn't be so harsh, especially to girls, but she was an exception.

As she ran away, I quickly ran back inside the house and rushed to the backyard. I saw Ellie sitting on the swinging chair. My expression grew soft.

I looked at him in the eyes. The icy, cold gray faded into a warm, soft green. It's like he was thawing from when he was stuck, frozen in Tessa's trap. He sat down next to me, and we each didn't say a word.

"Why did you believe her?" I kept my head down, twiddling my thumbs. He didn't respond for a while, then finally spoke up.

"I had to, she was my girlfriend. Even though a part of me knew it was fake, a tiny part of me believed it was real. I'm real sorry, I know you probably won't forgive me. Just know I'm sorry."

"God, Ponyboy of course I forgive you. I couldn't wait for you to know already, and I can't stay mad at you. Even though you should've believed me, but that's not the point." I tried to lighten the mood by adding a small joke, and it worked. He took a deep sigh as if he was relieved, then gave me a big grin.

"Don't listen to whatever Tessa says, I'm done with her." Ponyboy said, he picked up a flower from the backyard and put it in my hair. I giggled at his action.

"Let's watch the sunset now."
