Maya's POV
The sound of my friend's voices gave me a headache. The warm sunlight filtrating through the curtains blinded my eyes. I could make out the two different voices of Jimmy and Robert. Robert's annoying forced laugh and Jimmy's throaty chuckles.
''We know you're awake because you're wrinkling your nose with disgust. Come on then.'' called Robert in a high pitched voice, making me cringe.
''Pray tell us, was Paul McCartney that boring that you fell asleep or he knocked you out and we have permission to hit him?''
''Neither.'' I said, shaking my head lightly
''Then what happened?''
''I was drunk.''
Their reaction wasn't what I expected as they burst out laughing and the shrill sound made me want to cover my ears. I sat up and opened my eyes, groaning at the headache that suddenly hit me. Jimmy and Robert were laughing, holding their stomachs, tears falling out of their eyes as they kept high-fiving each other.
''Will you stop?'' I whined, using the pillow to cover my ears. They covered their mouths, stifling the laughs as they watched me with amused looks.
''Only you would think of interviewing someone drunk, even Paul McCartney.''
''No wonder he left.'' Jimmy said, with a satisfied grin.
''They're gone?'' I asked, afraid of the answer. They nodded in response and my mood dropped.
''They're coming back for dinner.'' Jimmy told me with a genuine smile and Robert nodded his agreement.
''Rob?'' I adressed him, raising my eyebrows as he met my gaze steadily. He was honest, he really didn't mind that they were coming. I hugged them both and I heard Jimmy giggle and burrow his face in my neck. I kissed both their cheeks and got out of bed, I was wearing my shirt but I was pantless, I blushed and tugged on the hems of my shirt, covering my legs. I walked up to the phonograph and played ''Dream A Little Dream of Me'', closing the curtains and singing along.
''What time is it?'' I said, looking at the snow piling up on the ground and the grey clouds
'' 2.''
''Maybe someone did knock me out'' I murmured as I pulled my hair up in a bun.
''Let's go outside, shall we?'' Robert proposed. I agreed and started pulling out warm clothes from my closet.
''Are you going to make me change in front of you? Get out.'' I told them, half-jokingly. Robert snorted a laugh and Jimmy grinned in a very cheeky way.
''Well, I wouldn't mind and all-'' he began to say but Robert cut him off.
''Come on, darling.'' Robert told him, pushing him off the bed and out the door. He closed the door behind him and I took my clothes off. I slipped on a turquoise knit sweater and leg warmers, I brushed my hair back and grabbed my snow boots. I gave myself a last look on the mirror and grabbed a scarf dangling from a hook behind the door. Jimmy and Robert were sitting on the stairs, talking in low voices, their conversation ended when they noticed my presence.
Jimmy's POV
"She seems happier." I told him.
"She is. They make her happy." he answered, nodding
" We make her happy too. "
" She doesn't look so hurt and I don't think she likes Paul anymore."
I couldn't fight the satisfactory grin that suddenly made its appearance. Robert hit my leg playfully and I laughed.
"By the way, you did leave a very convincing mark on Paul's face." I complimented him and he snickered
"I think that you've got a chance with her." he told me, adopting a serious look and I nodded merrily. I was about to respond when the door to her room opened and out came pretty Maya with her brown long hair and green eyes.
"What?"she asked and I shook my head. I met her eyes and she smiled. I got lost in her eyes for a few seconds, remembering why I liked her so much. I grinned again.
Robert cleared his throat cutting me off.
"Come on Cheshire Cat, let's see some snow." he said, standing up and descending the stairs.
Cheshire Cat? What did he mean?
Maya snickered and I watched her, confused. She shook her head and pushed me down the stairs. Robert opened the front door, making a sweeping gesture as he wrapped his silk scarf tightly around his neck. I stepped outside, my footsteps crunching on snow. The first gust of cold hair that hit me made me want to regret getting out of the warm house. My face was being jabbed by a million needles, stinging and leaving a raw sensation. And that meant nothing compared to the sensation I got when a snowball collided with my face.
"What. Was. That. For." I managed to snap between shivers as I brushed the snow off. I turned towards Robert, already molding a snowball in the palm of my hand, ignoring the stinging sensation it was giving me. Maya was grinning sheepishly, hiding behind Robert and looking at me from over his shoulder. Robert had raised his hands in a symbol of surrender and I aimed the snowball at his hair.
"You're going to regret that." he threatened, laughing altogether. He was collecting a handful of snow and I shielded myself behind a tree, I could hear a giggle, a shriek and then a thump, all coming from Maya. I peeked from a side of the tree, watching her laugh and brush snow off her shoulder. I managed to dodge the snowball Robert fired at me and I threw one back at him, hitting his leg. I stepped out of the shelter the tree provided and managed to hit Maya two times, receiving two hits from Robert in the process. The cold crawling feeling was gone, replaced by a warm sensation. I could feel my cheeks flushed and snow melting on my beard. Maya threw a few snowballs at my face and they all reached the target. I shrieked and tackled her to the ground, into a pile of snow. She laughed and tried to break free but I had my hands locked to her wrists, pinning them high above her head. She squirmed as I threw little snowballs on top of her, showering her with a rain of snow. She giggled and stopped squirming, examining my childish happiness. She poked my nose and I smiled. I rolled off of her and lay down beside her. She turned to her side so she was facing me and she poked my nose again.
"Salut." I told her
"Salut James." she answered and I chuckled, she hadn't called me James for years.
"I'm glad that you're here." she told me with a warm smile and I poked her nose in response.
"Maya..."
"Oui?"
"I -
Paul's POV
"Daydreaming is bad for you, darling." John said sarcastically as I crashed into him on my way to the bed, clearly distracted. I shrugged and threw myself on the bed. The only thing that I remembered from my dream was John singing 'You're going to lose that girl.' and that's what frightened me the most.
Calm down, will you? No, Mother. Norman, dear. What? You're going to give yourself a headache. You're already giving me a headache. Then I did my job well.
"Paul. I'm talking to you." George said, bringing me back to reality.
"Yeah?"
"Don't- Erm. Never mind. " he fiddled nervously with his hands.
"What is it George?"
''Have you thought of the possibility that she doesn't love you anymore?"
"You like her again. Don't you? You. John. Maybe even Ringo. "
"I'm going to be honest with you. Yes, I do. I don't know about John or Ringo but I do. And i'm not sorry because had it not been for my dream you would not have remembered her." he ushered out and I nodded.
Looks like we're at it again. Looks like you never grow tired. He's right though. I know.
