"Airi...Airi would you just please talk..." Grunting, I caught her duffel bag before it fell. Sighing as she sat in the wheelchair, I thanked the doctor before following the nurse out into the hallway. The walk there was obviously silent since Airi wouldn't speak to me. They were scared she had internal bleeding because her stomach was distended, so we were forced to stay in the hospital an additional three days. One so they could monitor her and two so they could make sure I didn't have any bleeding on the brain.

"Thank you." Shutting Airi's door, I tossed our things in the trunk as I climbed in the drivers seat.

"I should take a uber there, I don't even trust yo stupid ass driving." Sighing, I turned to look at her when she said that.

"You haven't spoken to me since we've been here, and that's the first thing you say to me?" Plugging her ears with some headphones, she sighed and closed her eyes. Gripping the steering wheel until my knuckles turned white, I pulled off and headed to my grandparents home. My grandparents obviously were notified about the wreckage, and feeling bad they had a neighbor they trusted bring us my grandmothers car to take home. The part they forgot to mention? My parents had flown out.

"Oh my god! I'm glad you two are okay!" Catching my sister in my arms as I stepped out the car, I swallowed thickly as my father went to help a very agitated Airi. Making eye contact with her, I pleaded for her not to rat me out. When she just rolled her eyes, I knew better. My parents would ask questions and she would sing like a canary.

"C'mon. It's cold out here and we all need to sit down and talk once you all get situated. Locking the door, I followed them inside the house and true to there word they called us back downstairs when they were ready.

"Airi please-"

"No Tray! Face the consequences." Snatching her good arm away from me, she eagerly jogged down the steps. Running my hands over my face, I leaned against the doorway as my mind went over the million and one possibilities. This girl had no idea how stern the men and women in my family could be.

"Tray!! Come down here!" Sighing, I rushed down the steps and quickly sat down. Unfortunately for me I sat directly across from Airi, which meant I sat wedged between my parents. I was definitely going to have more bruises tonight. I just hope they didn't kill me, we had a flight at 6am to go back to Texas.

"Your grandpas car was damn near totaled Tray. You blew out three tires, shattered the windshield, both passenger side windows and the entire passenger side is dented in. Not to mention the front end split in to, you hit a light pole on your way down. The only reason there not making him pay for that, is because there was black ice. Now the insurance company can't determine just how fast you were going. But just that you had to be going over the speed limit, and because you were injured to the extent you were and it wasn't your car do you realized who that falls on?" Looking up from my hands, I turned to face my very upset grandfather.

"Pops I'm sorry I.-" Lifting his frail hand, he reached for me as he gripped both my hands in his shaking ones.

"I was young and dumb once, I get it. But you have to tell the truth and man up to face your consequences understand?" Nodding, I sighed into his hand when he patted the side of my face.

"You heard him, now tell us what happened. If you don't we'll ask Airi. The way she's looking? I can bet anything that she's waiting to tell us every detail. So let it come from her or you be a man and tell us. Your choice." Feeling my fathers tight grip on my shoulder, I winced before sealing my fate.

"I was speeding." I stated simply, jumping when my mother hit me in my chest.

"Details boy! And don't you play with me! Your grandfathers insurance only covers so much because of the severity of the accident! Stop playing with me before I hurt you, ya hear!?" Grimacing when she gripped my chin, I clenched and unclenched my fist feeling pain linger there. Keeping my head down, I went to continue.
