It's been three days today, since we've buried or rather we sent him off. His body was cremated and resided in a box, Janay later allowed Airi to paint John's favorite colors. Some of his ashes were created into pieces of jewelry for the family to wear, Airi had yet to receive her piece of jewelry and was fairly upset. But I had a plan to cheer her up. Although I decided to cancel the plans I had for her and postponed them until further notice, I would celebrate our anniversary.

One year.

Damn time knew how to fly by!

She hasn't went home since everything happened , and I didn't blame her. Aside from that day, she hadn't interacted with them or spoke much about them in general. Her mother was still moving forward with moving out, and had begun giving things away to good will.

Yes even his things.

She started out by allowing them the chance to take what they wanted from his things, Damon especially because he could wear them. Once they picked out what they wanted, everyone separated again without a word. Airi took all his favorite colognes, his favorite tie and the pillow he slept on. It didn't even bother her that he took his last breaths on it, just that it was his favorite pillow. She had a fit when I rolled on her side of the bed, and drooled on it. She slapped me so hard, she left behind a handprint.

She apologized immediately after and started crying though.

I forgave her, and understood just how erratic she must've been feeling. After that day, she made a choice to email her therapist and she was once again speaking with her or him and taking her meds regularly. Again. All of this in a span of barely two days, now three.

I had to commend Airi.

She knew her triggers and she knew what to do and what not to do. She was steadfast in respecting her fathers wishes, and I was proud of her for that.

"Baby?" Peeking into the room to see that she was still asleep, I stepped inside the room and pulled the blinds back watching the sun spray into our room. It hit her right in the face, and when she started to stir I set up the camera and booked it out the room.

"Tray?! Why you open the blinds?!" Taking a deep breath, I turned the Bluetooth on and quickly hooked my phone up. I could hear her moving around in the bed and I wanted to get back in the room before she got up.

"Coming! Just lay there!" I yelled, smirking as Brian McKnight flooded the condo.

One
You're like a dream come true
Two
Just want to be with you
Three
Girl, it's plain to see
That you're the only one for me
And four
Repeat steps one through three
Five
Make you fall in love with me
If ever I believe my work is done
Then I'll start back at one..

Grabbing ahold of the tray with our breakfast on it, I carefully danced my way into the room as the chorus hit. When she realized what was happening, a smile spread across her tired face as she sat up and laughed. When she did my chest pull tight at the sight. She hadn't cracked a smile in a while now, as expected.

"Tray what are you doing?" She cheesed, hiding her smile behind her hand as she surveyed our breakfast.

"Serving my girl on our anniversary." Her eyes went wide at that, her hands searching for her phone in a panic.

"Shit! I thought I had more time..I..I'm sorry Tray I-"

"Have nothing to be sorry about, good vibes only today." Taking her phone from her, I shut it off and tossed it on the dresser as I joined her in the bed.
