A I R I O A N N A•"Alright see you later." Yawning loudly, I watched my sister and brother run in the school building before pulling off.
"I really don't want to go to school." Looking in the rear view mirror, I frowned at that. Juliette was unlike any of us, she loved going to school. It was her thing.
"You've been saying that every morning this week, what's up?" It was Friday finally, and it was supposed to be a happy day. I mean who didn't love Friday's? It was the end of the work week and school week for most people! I made sure they got all there major projects and homework assignments out the way as soon as they ate and relaxed for a minute. That way they had the rest of the day, and the weekend free to be as lazy as they pleased. Especially Juliette, with Dad sick and Mom working so much overtime her grades kept falling.
I said she loved school, not that she was good at it.
"The kids at school are mean to me." Feeling my stomach drop as we pulled up to her school, I turned around to face her as she unbuckled her seatbelt.
"When do you take your test?" Frowning at me, she shrugged.
"Fifth period, why?" Pondering it a moment, I looked her dead in the eye.
"Ace that test, and keep your grades up? And I'll take you out of school early all next week as long as you make sure to get your notes and homework for the rest of the day from each class. After that you have to toughen up, and face those bullies head on. Understand? Don't be like me and run." Dropping her head against my shoulder, she wrapped her arms around my neck in a tight hug before running across the parking lot to her awaiting teacher. Waving to her, I whipped out of the parking lot adamant to just get home and rest. I was supposed to hang with the girls today, and just be boring together.
I was looking forward to it.
Pulling back into my driveway, I jumped out and locked the door as the nurse walked out. Smiling at me, she waved.
"Morning Airi!" Cringing at the velocity of her voice, I gave her a one armed hug.
"How's he doing?" In the morning he stayed upstairs in bed, before she or I moved him around the house or outside to move around his muscles and body. He didn't need to be cooped up either, he needed fresh air. I started taking him out to eat when they restaurants weren't to busy, on short walks and even to the movies a few times. I even booked him a hair appointment, but they came to our home and cut his hair and facial hair.
"Hey Airi Berry." Smiling at him as he sat at the kitchen table eating, I wrapped my arms around him and kissed his freshly shaven cheek. It was nice to smell cologne and not medication wagging off of him in waves.
"Hey daddy, what you eating?" I sat with him , while the nurse cleaned up from earlier this morning. She usually gave him a bath, kept his nails nice and trim for him, as well as checked him for any bed sores or other issues. He was losing weight drastically, and I started to fear that he would go soon. At times I would struggle to stay sleep, and now the distance between Tray and I was become a bit much. I was starting to miss him, he helped keep my mind off of my home life.

Romance"Be slow to fall into friendship & love, but when you are in, continue firm and constant." Someone should've told Tray that. Add my story to your reading list, later chapters involve mature themes & wattpad won't allow you to read them otherwise. 🤗...
