"Holy shit, I did that to you?" I was staring at light pink marks that were etched across his back. They were scratch marks, from when we...you know. That night was so obscenely different from anything I had ever done. I mean, I never thought I could feel so free in bed and yet so needy at the same time.
He smiled, turning around to face me. "Yes, and it was fantastic."
"You like pain?" I was pulling on my socks, sitting in one of his chairs in his room.
"Well, not necessarily. I like the pleasure that comes with it." Pleasure that comes with nails digging into your skin?
"How does me scratching you come with pleasure?"
He shrugged and starting pulling on a black T-shirt. "It lets me know that you were really caught up in it and that gives me pleasure. You understand?"
I stood, tugging on the hem of my own shirt. "I guess so."
He laughed. "It's okay. It's kind of hard to understand until you experience it." Experience painful pleasure or pleasureful pain? This was confusing.
"Then, I'll save my words until you show me something." Shit, that was not supposed to come out of my mouth. I need to learn to keep inner thoughts in. Why was I hopping on the first guy to show me any type of affection? Did I really like him because of him or because he was being nice?
I knew he had heard me, but he decided not respond immediately, which I was grateful for. "I'm ready when you are."
I wasn't sure if he was referring to us leaving or my statement.
Aiden P.O.V.
I knew I couldn't take him to a fancy restaurant to impress him and I was tired of eating bite sized portions of overpriced food anyway. So, I decided to take him to one of the best, if not the best, wing spot that I've ever had the pleasure of eating at. It was where I came when I was younger and interning and everything was just so overwhelming for me, and it was where I came now when I wanted to clear my head and eat some good food without the pressures of work and the expectations of my clients.
I glanced over at him as I pulled into the parking area of the shop and I saw that he was smiling in his seat. "What are you over there grinning for?"
He shook his head, indicating that he was hiding something, which I didn't necessarily like, but I didn't want to scare him off. If he wanted to share, he would share. "It's nothing."
As I backed into the parking space, he started giggling. The sound was like a soft ringing in my ears and it made me smile in turn. "Okay, now you've got to tell me."
"You brought this car to this side of town. I just think it's funny."
"What? It's just a Nissan. You think it's not gonna be here when we get back?"
"I mean, I'm sure parts of it will."
I raised my eyebrows in surprise. "You think I don't know these streets?"
"I know you don't know these streets."
I nodded. "You'd be right. But I'm still trying to make a difference. Kind of like you're doing. I feel some kind of attachment to this side of town. I'm not a complete stranger to it. But I'm trying to start a center for everyone to come to and take classes and earn their GEDs and give them outlets to express themselves." It was a project that I'd been working on for a while with some of my colleagues and it was finally starting to come to fruition.
"Wow, when you get that off the ground, you have got to let me use a room for my dance classes. I could reach so many more kids and help so many more homes and- " His eyes lit up as he thought about his passion and I felt so enthralled in the way he spoke and then the face disappeared and it was replaced by a blank one as his voice trailed off. "Sorry. I didn't mean to just go off there."
