"No."

"It makes sense."

"No." I didn't particularly like this idea, even if it meant me suffering. I didn't like mooching off of people.

"I think I specifically remember you asking for this. In fact, I think your exact words were, 'You have got to let me use a room for my dance classes.'" Aiden was sitting in a chair across from me, holding his head up with his fingers as I fiddled with my nails and the back of my hand on the couch. He was trying to persuade me to take a position as a teacher at his new community center that he was about to open. "Well, now the center is opening and I'm offering and you won't accept because what? You've been out of work for two weeks now and I really don't care whether you go to work again or not, but you do. You feel like you're taking advantage of me or whatever. So, let me hire you because there are idiot HR managers out here who clearly don't know what they're missing out on."

"I just, it doesn't feel right. I do feel like I'm using you. These kids aren't paying for these classes and you're still trying to pay me an obscene amount of money to teach classes that I've been doing for free. You make no money in this." I didn't want to be his charity case.

"Oh my God." He wiped his face with his hand. "Do you realize how much money I've stockpiled in my life so far? I know how to make money and now, I have more than enough room to choose to spend it how I want to spend it. Now, I'm trying to spend it on something good and you won't let me. Stop thinking about just yourself and think about the kids and the homes you wanted to help. You'd be doing them a disservice." He was right. I already knew the kids would love the center and they hadn't even seen it yet. I hadn't even seen it yet. But I did know $22 an hour was an absurd amount of money.

"$15 an hour." That was more than I was previously earning already.

"$18 and I'm not coming down any more, so get your stuff so you can come see the space. You're gonna pick out a room that you like so we can install mirrors and get it ready. Everything will be done by the book. I'll do routine and random check ins as I see fit and I'll fire you if I see fit. And that's the last I want to hear of this unless you've got something new to say, which I know you don't because we've been talking in circles for ten minutes now." He was using his dominant voice, his 'don't question me voice' as I like to put it. It was sexy.

I had been doing some light Googling on dominant and submissive relationships and I was way more curious now than I should be and I didn't know how to bring it up to Aiden. I wanted to ask questions, but I didn't want to get myself into something that I couldn't handle. I wanted to be able to back out at any time and have everything be okay between us if I didn't want to do it anymore.

He lifted his body from the chair and grabbed the keys off of the counter. "Come on. I want to get the order for the mirrors in by today, tomorrow at the latest."

"This was you? I thought it was some random fancy office building! I remember passing by a couple times and I never bothered to find out what it was. This is so amazing!" We were standing on the steps of his new center, which was seated off of the highway. The building looked as if it were two stories tall, but both floors looked like they were the equivalent of two, so in reality, it was four.

I leaned against the car and looked up towards the roof. The broad, pristinely white building expanded for what seemed like forever. There were small trees and brightly colored rows of plants littered all over the front and sides of the building and I'm sure they also covered the back. We started walking up the two sets of stone stairs towards the door of the building which consisted of ceiling to wall glass panels, giving me a glance as to what was inside before I even went in. It was insanely beautiful, something this neighborhood wasn't used to. "They're going to destroy this place, Aid." It was a nickname that had just slipped out one day and it stuck. "It's too beautiful for them. They won't appreciate it." People were going to loot this place like it was going out of business.
