"Soo, kick, ball-change step, attitude and then-"
"No, kick, ball change, step, switch, then attitude."
"That damn switch fucking kills me." Sophie whined, pressing a forefinger to her temple as she tried to ingrain the extra move into her memory. She had been struggling with this particular dance since we learned it and it had to be performed in just a few hours, five more to be exact. Imagine learning a dance and performing it the very same day.
"Don't worry, it kills me too." That was Wyatt. He had been practicing with us since our second week on the show. "Well, that and all the turns at the end."
I rolled my eyes. "Don't even get me started on those damn turns." By the time I got to the end of the dance, I was so tired, it was anyone's guess how I was still standing. I was breathing so hard I could probably lift a plane off the ground if I tried. I was exaggerating of course, but you get the point.
That shit was hard.
"How about we take five?" I suggested, wiping the sweat off my forehead as I walked over to my bag to grab my phone. I was sure that Aiden had texted me at least once in all of the hours I'd been here. I had to admit, I missed him a lot. I'd been gone since yesterday and I probably missed just the smell of him the most.
DY 12:34 - Your pet won't stop following me.
DY 12:42 - It's sitting on the counter, looking at me expectantly. I thought cats fed themselves.
I snorted. Cookie would feed himself. If he was following Aiden around, it's because he wanted to play.
DY 1:07 - Into the bathroom too? Really? I closed the door and now he won't stop whining.
DY 1:08 - Am I supposed to feel this bad about having a piece of mind? I mean, I can't even work properly.
DY 1:10 - Honestly, this is like having you around. Just, you know, in tiny cat form.
DY 1:12 - I've accepted my fate.
Underneath that message I found a picture of Aiden holding Cookie up to the camera, both of them looking about as happy as possible. It was heart-wrenchingly cute.
ME 3:40 - Well I'm glad you're having more fun than me.
His response was almost immediate. Aiden was never one to care about texting back too fast. If he saw the message, he would respond. As he put it, "What's the point in pretending we don't have our phone in our hands 24/7?"
DY 3:40 - I assure you that I'm not.
ME 3:41 - Cookie not keeping you company anymore?
I checked the time. It had been a few hours. Cookie might've lost interest.
DY 3:41 - Daddy just misses his kitten, that's all.
DY 3:41 - But Cookie is a pretty okay substitute I guess...
ME 3:42 - Oh really? Might leave him with you more often then. Find me a replacement for you while I'm here...
DY 3:43 - I highly doubt you could do that, kitten.
ME 3:43 - If you can do it, I DEFINITELY can do it.
DY 3:44 - There's no way I could ever replace you.
My cheeks warmed instantly. Well, that turned very sweet, very fast. He knew what he was doing.
Fucking asshole.
Aiden P.O.V.
He didn't respond for a few minutes, so I assumed that he had gone back to filming until my phone buzzed. I immediately look at the notification.
